Softball Presentation Night – Wolumla Pub

What a way to wrap up an incredible season! The Wolumla Pub was buzzing with laughter, dancing and plenty of great memories as our softball community came together to celebrate.

💃 The dance floor was alive all night thanks to DJ Rosie Rose – absolute vibes!

👏 And to our committee – thank you for your tireless effort. With three new committed members stepping up this season, it’s been a huge team effort to make everything happen. We’d still love a few more helpers, so if you’re keen to get involved, jump on board!

🏆 Softball Grand Final Wrap – Saturday 21st March 🏆

What a day at Wolumla Rec! Despite the damp conditions, the energy was high, the competition fierce and the community spirit absolutely shining.

The canteen was sizzling all day long! A massive thank you to:

Shan & Kellie holding it all together
You kept everyone fed, warm and smiling – legends!

🥎 B Grade Grand Final – Emeralds vs Top Pub
This game was an absolute nail biter from start to finish. Every innings was tight, with strong hits and some fantastic outs across the field.
The wet conditions made it tough, but both pitchers Deb and Shak handled it brilliantly in the rain. Special mention to Addy and Chelsea who stepped up and did an awesome job and Top Pubs Cass C for her speedy base running, making every moment count!

And Cass for keeping the scorebook running smoothly

⭐ Player of the Game: Megan (Emeralds) – outstanding with the bat and rock solid in the field
⭐ Shoutout to Amy Ryan (Top Pub) – your improvement this season has been incredible, and your positivity lifts your whole team

In the end, Emeralds came away with the win in a super close contest!

🥎 A Grade Grand Final – Candelo General Store & Cafe vs Warriors

The Warriors came in ready to challenge the undefeated Candelo side and they absolutely brought the pressure.

This game had it all:
Emma taking an outstanding catch in left outfield like a true champion
Strong pitcher/catcher combinations from both teams controlling the tempo
Excellent base work keeping the pressure on every play.
And some top-quality umpire calls all game 👏
And then… the moment to finish it all:

🔥 Colby’s clutch catch to end the game – cool, clean and the perfect way to seal the win!
We also had Shan try to stop a ball with her non-glove hand – commitment level = elite!

What a GRAND FINAL day in Bega for the Bega District Softball Association!

The diamonds were buzzing with energy and talent as our teams battled it out in some truly nail-biting matches!

B Grade Final:
Plevey's vs Top Pub
After 5 innings, scores were locked at 23-all! With one more inning each, Plevey’s edged out Top Pub 25–24 in a thrilling finish.
Player of the Match: Charlie Radford

A Reserve Final:
Smoking Bases 21 – Emeralds 12
A powerful performance from Smoking Bases secured them the win!
Player of the Match: Bec Payne

A Grade Final:
Candelo 19 – Wolumla Warriors 18
In an absolute cracker of a game, Candelo took the win without needing their final bat!

A huge shoutout to our incredible umpires—your professionalism, consistency, and love for the game shone through all day. From keeping the games flowing to making the tough calls and recognising standout players with the Player of the Match awards, you were absolutely vital in making the grand final day run smoothly.
