2025.

Sixteen years in the Fitness Industry.

At the end of 2024 I said that “2024 was a ripper! and that 2025 was going to be “More PT. More Online PT. Who knows…Maybe even more gyms!”

I said more gyms as a joke. The rest was very much the plan!

I had no idea that joking about more gyms was going to not only become reality but become DOUBLE the number of gyms!

I still do PT, I still do Online PT - I (hope) I always will!

But two clubs became four!

I now manage three Club Managers and an Assistant Manager in four clubs with over three thousand members along with eight Casuals, three Personal Trainers and a Pilates instructor.

I’m on the road three days per week, I work 60-70 hours per week, I choose to start early every day, I choose to work through most of my lunch breaks…I choose to check emails and sell a few memberships on my laptop in the kitchen over the weekend…

I fu***ng love this job.

But, I also have weekends again. Time and energy to be at home with my family and time to support the Home Boss to do her thing…

I know what I want it to be. I know what impact I want to have on my teams. I know what I want to learn and who I want to learn from.

I know the person I want to be in twelve months time.

2024 has been a ripper.

That’s literally it…

That’s my year recap!

It hasn’t gone to plan but it’s all worked out really well.

Like…

REALLY well.

For the first time in years, I can honestly say, it’s been a fu***ng good year and mean it!

This time last year, Personal Training was going great - Booked out at Plus Fitness 24/7 Beerwah and about to start at Plus Fitness 24/7 Morayfield…

That’s didn’t quite pan out the way we though!

Personal Training is still going great…

But, now, I also manage both gyms.

I can honestly say I never wanted to be a gym manager and never saw it coming. I can also honestly say that I absolutely love it!

The members and the teams I work with are THE. BEST.

Balancing both gigs is a lot. Big days. Long hours. Tough conversations. A little bit of pressure. Huge accountability. Processes, Procedures and Policies.

I’m good for at least one night of over stimulation inducing insomnia per month…

Sounds appealing, huh? 😅

The fact that I can do this with things behind the scenes under control is all down to one person…

Home Boss.

She’s is KILLING IT!

Two businesses, community nursing part time, cooking, cleaning, stay at home mumming…

Way to go, Champ!

But the kids deserve plenty of credit too…

They have adapted to our new life really well too - they aren’t perfect but they put up with a lot and bring us the most joy.

Now, that my work year is done (bar a few PT sessions) I’m going to take the next two weeks to rest, recover and plan for a bigger and better 2025 because this winning at life thing is pretty addictive!

Fifteen years in the Fitness Industry?

Completed it, mate!

Year 16 is going to be a good one…

More PT. More Online PT. Who knows…

Maybe even more gyms!

MACHINE HIP THRUSTS

Hip Thrusts are GREAT.

Machine Hip Thrusts are GREAT.

Here's how we make them even GREATERER.

Most Hip Thrust Machine have hooks on them that allows you to safely and securely anchor a band to the machine. Not only does adding a band to the load make it harder and increase the resistance - it actually evens out the resistance making you work harder during the easiest segment of the rep.

The top half of a Hip Thrust, maybe even the top third, is the easiest part of the movement...until you add a band.

Without a band attached these machines feel a bit like riding a mountain bike down a hill in the lightest gear...it just feels like your legs can't keep up. With a band attached, the easiest part of the movement very quickly becomes the most difficult making you work harder, contracting your Glutes more, from top to bottom meaning the tension element of Time Under Tension increases dramatically.

Long story short...

Your glutes are going to BURN and your b***y is going to get stronger and grow bigger FAST.
