‘Twas the night before Christmas across Beenleigh so still,
Junior & Youth Buffs tucked in dreaming of the field on the hill.

Up over the floodlights and past the tall trees,
A sleigh cut the clouds with the greatest of ease.

Teal, Navy, and Yellow sparkled bright in the sky,
As “Beenleigh Buffs” shimmered in magic drifting by.

Santa gave a chuckle, his reindeer took flight,
One proudly in a Buffs guernsey glowing in the night.

“Rest well, young Buffs — your spirit runs deep,
Tomorrow brings joy… but for now, time to sleep.”

Hi Buffs!

I’m Tami, the new Junior President!

First up, a massive thank you to Zane Jackson. The work he’s done on the field and behind the scenes is legendary. Honestly, I don’t think words could ever cover what he’s given this club. The best part? He’s still here, still doing amazing things, but now with more time to focus on what he loves most… while I take on the boring bits!

I joined the Buffaloes back in 2021 when my eldest started Auskick, and since then we haven’t left. I have had the privilege of coaching U7’s in 2023 and the U8’s 2024/2025. Next season my eldest will be in under 9s, my youngest will be starting Auskick, and I’ll be cheering them both on while helping lead the juniors and youth!

I have had the honour watching our juniors grow the last few years, which makes me even more excited for 2026!

Next year we will see an U9’s MIXED and U8’s GIRLS team in the Junior space. With Youth launching an U13’s GIRLS team! Watch this space!

Highlighting, none of this would be possible without Zane’s groundwork and ongoing support.

I can’t wait to get around the grounds next year. Through training, games, and all the fun in between.

I’m always open to feedback and ideas, so if you see me around, come and say hi.

𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀

Hi all, just a quick note from coach Zane. As part of recent AGM changes, I’ve stepped down from the Junior President role, but I’m not leaving! I’ll still be involved in juniors and I'll support new Junior President, Tami Furminger, every step of the way. She'll do an introduction post soon, make sure you say g'day when you see her.

This transition has been completely frictionless and nothing but positive. I’m genuinely excited to have Tami leading the junior stampede, her organisation, energy and passion for the kids is exactly what we need heading into the new season.

To all Buffs families - keep backing us! Along with new president Adam, there's a lot of big things to be announced soon. I've tried my hardest to regrow our juniors and had some great wins along the way. I've also made my share of mistakes, but they've all been with the best of intentions. All those lessons I'll pass on to the new team, so keep backing the Buffs in!

A MASSIVE thank you to every single Buffs kid and family that's supported me over the years, all the coaches and managers that have put their hand up, and all the committee members past and present who have helped juniors flourish. Lots of love as well to AFLQ comp manager stars Ash and Leanne.

Whether disabilities are visible or hidden, we’re proud that people of all abilities wear the Buffs guernsey, from our junior teams right through to our wheelchair side.

We love having teams that reflect the community we live in. Inclusivity and diversity make our club and community stronger, on and off the field.

𝗚𝗜𝗥𝗟𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗬 – 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘 & 𝗧𝗥𝗬 𝗦𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦!

We’re kicking off youth girls’ Come and Try sessions for Under 13s and up over the next few Wednesdays, starting tomorrow from 6–7pm at Beenleigh.

These sessions are free, no obligation, and open to absolutely everyone: whether you’ve played heaps of sport, never picked up a footy, or just want to give it a go and have some fun.

And… a little teaser 👀: we’ve secured a major sponsor for our girls program for 2025. We'll be ready to share soon, but what we can say is the season fees will be cheap and we’re really excited about what this means for the program.

Bring a friend, tag a friend, tag a cousin, tag anyone who might be keen, the more the better. Come have a run, meet some new people, and enjoy a relaxed, fun session.

It’s been a few years since we’ve had dedicated youth girls teams, but we’ve had some brilliant girls come through our mixed teams and we’d love to rebuild that pathway properly.

⚠️ UPDATE FOR SUMMER SKILLS – NEW DAYS & TIMES ⚠️

Here are the key details going forward for the next few weeks, starting tomorrow (Monday December 1):

🟦 Mixed Juniors (U8–U11) & Youth Boys (13–17):
➡️ Mondays, 5–6pm

🟨 Youth Girls (13+) come and try sessions
➡️ Wednesdays, 6–7pm (no change here)

Coach Zane: "I need to put my hand up for an off-season fumble here. Big apologies for the change in days. Thanks for rolling with the change for now.

"If Mondays don't work for you, we'll aim for Wednesdays next year from late January. We'll just need to work with cricket on availability.

"Thanks for your patience, and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone out there on the track, new and old."
