Hi Everyone,

It’s been a fantastic year for juniors— seeing their development and growth has been truly outstanding!

We had planned to hold the final Cockburn Junior Academy Event on Sunday, 30th November, however, due to unforeseen circumstances, this event will no longer be going ahead. We explored options to reschedule, but with the upcoming peak season, there are no available Sundays remaining.

The great news is that we’ll be relaunching the program in the new year, and we’re excited to see everyone back and ready for another great season of learning and fun.

A big thank you to all our juniors and their parents/guardians for your ongoing support and participation throughout the year.

Promoting and encouraging juniors from our community to come together and enjoy the game, is what this program is all about.

We look forward to seeing you all in the new year!

What a Great Day of Bowls for the Juniors! 🎉

Over the past few months, juniors from various clubs have come together to learn new skills and build their knowledge of the game — and it's really starting to show!

Yesterday marked the Development Series Finals, where our junior teams played three exciting games. The overall winners were, quite fittingly, a team that called themselves ‘The Winners’ 😊

Congratulations to Billy, Tia, Kobyn, and Tobee!

Runners-up went to the ‘Special Forces’ team of Kyle, Sylvia, Jai, and Rhyatt. Great effort from all of you!

We also had the pleasure of awarding the Rising Star Award, which recognises commitment, skill improvement, and overall growth. This year, we couldn’t pick just one — so a big congratulations to Tia and Rhyatt for earning this well-deserved recognition! 🌟

A huge congratulations to all the juniors who participated over the months. Your hard work, energy, and sportsmanship have been amazing to see.

📅 Our next session will be on Sunday, October 12th. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Cockburn Junior Academy is all about giving all juniors within the community an opportunity to learn, grow and develop their skills in a fun environment.

Over the past years the Academy Program has welcomed juniors from other clubs to develop their skills and then take these back to their club to utilise in training, pennant and club events. This strengthens the playing capabilities at their own clubs and as well as increase the younger membership cohort within those clubs.

The program has also encouraged juniors in the community who are not connected to any club, to come try the sport in a fun and safe environment, where they get to meet new people and learn the sport.

Last week, we had over 16 juniors participate in the State Junior Championships representing their respective clubs but who have also had the opportunity to be a part of Cockburn Junior Academy Program. You could see the development in these players not only of their skills, but the attitude and understanding of tactics and game play. Seeing them put into practice what they have learnt through the academy was inspiring and demonstrates their enjoyment of the game and their willingness and dedication to learn.

A massive congratulations to those players who were successful in winning medals and also to all players who demonstrated great sportsmanship both on and off the green. Congratulations everyone and we can’t wait to see you continue to grow, develop and become inspirational leaders in this sport.

Massive congrats to Junior Academy member Kobyn on a great final in the club novice singles.

Just going down 23 to 25. Chris and Kobyn had a great battle with some awesome bowls. To see so many people coming down to support both players is what a bowls community is about.

You see is the development in these juniors not only in their skills but their sportsmanship and attitude.

Well done to both players!!
