On what was a great day for golf, although very heavy under foot. We had 11 men front up for the September Monthly Medal.

The winner of the Medal was Dave Clark (15) with 36 points.
Runner up narrowly missing out on his 3rd Medal for the year was Jacko Wells (13) with 35 points.

Phil Pelgrim (17) claimed a ball with his 33 points.

Next to follow were Ashton Leary (20) 32, Rod Shaw (21) 32, Andrew Field (1) 32, Nathan Scott (21) 32, Zac Whitmore (35) 31, Simon Carracher (21) 31, Dylan Pool (0) 30, Andy Croome (16) 27.

No nearest the pins were recorded.

There were also two semi finals played in the Handicap matchplay Championships.

Jackson Wells defeated Andrew Field 2&1 and Dylan Pool defeated Andy Croome 1up.

Jacko and Dylan will meet in the final in two weeks time.

As was mentioned earlier the women also played today, playing their first round of their Club Championships.

Results will be posted when they are available.

Next Sunday is the second round of the Championships for the women. 8:30 for 9am tee off.

And for the Men golf is on 11:30 for 12 hit off.

We have a few big days coming up at Beechworth Golf Club over the next month or so.

We have our Annual AFL Ambrose day on Friday September the 25th.
Men's, women's and mixed teams.
9:30 for 10am. $25 per player.

Also on Sunday October the 4th we have our Mens annual Tournament.
10:30 for 11am tee off.
$30 per player.
Its not noted on the flyer, but there is also a junior nett event.

Also for the male members this year this is our first round of our Club Championships.

Also the Womens Annual Bowl is on Wednesday October the 14th.

Only a small field assembled at Beechworth yesterday for a Stableford round.

This was mainly due to six regulars playing at Avenel in their Tournament.

At Beechworth Nathan Scott (21) won the day with 33 points, George Ward (20) 32 was runner up.

Next best were Egypt Abdalla (36) 28 and Zane Howard (23) 28.

Dave Clark claed a nearest the pin on the 10th.

At Avenel Ashton Leary came home with all the prizes. He won the junior event on a countback. Winning a hat and a Drummond Golf voucher to add to his collection.

The only other collects from our members were in the raffle.
Fantastic day at Avenel, course was great and the afternoon tea even better.

This Sunday we have the men and women out on course.

The women are playing their first round of the Club Championships.
Make sure you are there to be in the running for the Thailand Golf Holiday.
8:30 for 9am hit off.

And for the Men, it will be the September Monthly Medal. 11:30 for 12 hit off.

A smaller field of nine players which included two juniors fronted up for a Stableford round yesterday.

Again for the second week in a row Ashton Leary (21) was the winner with 34 points.

Runner up was our other junior in attendance Egypt Abdalla (36) with 32 points.
Nathan Scott (21) had 32 points to come third and Andy Croome (14) was the other player to record a score in the 30s with 30 points.

Also on the weekend we had 6 members travel to Rochester for the Victorian Sandgreen Championships.

In the 4ball event on the Friday Andrew Field won the A grade straightest drive.
On the Saturday Darren Edwards won the A grade nett with 69 nett.
On the Sunday Dylan Pool equalled the course record with a great 3 under 68.
Which meant he won the day two A Grade nett with 66 nett.
Darren claimed a nearest the pin and the straightest drive.
In the overall Vaughan Saunders and Darren Edwards were tied 5th in the scratch, Dylan was tied 8th and Andrew Field was tied 22nd.

Glenda Marshall came tied 8th in the Womens A Grade nett and tied 19th in the overall Scratch.

Also on Sunday Zane Howard represented the club at Chiltern's tournament and Phil Pelgrim competed in the Blue Ribbon golf day at Benalla.

Well done to all over the weekend.

The Club Championships dates have been set for the men.
Round 1 will be on October the 4th in conjunction with our Mens Tournament.
Round 2 Sunday October 18th.
Round 3 Sunday November 8th.

Make sure your free for all these rounds as there is a big prize on offer for the 54 hole Champion.

Last Friday the women played their tri club challenge with the Yack and Bethanga ladies at Beechworth.

They played 12 holes.
The winner was Deb Tully with 23 points, runner up was Hollie Goodwin with 21 points and Doyna Collins came third with 19 points.

Beechworth cleaned up with all the prizes as Jidy Pierce took home nearest the pin on the 10th.

This coming Sunday will be a Stableford event at Beechworth. 11:30 for 12 hit off.

We also have a group of us going to Avenel for their Men's Tournament.
