Good evening lovely community Scenic Rim Regional Council has kindly organised and delivered extra waste rubbish bins at Graceleigh Park. Please see their post for more information.

📣WASTE SERVICES UPDATE - Tuesday 11 March 2025📣

🗑️ Bin collection:
Council's bin collection services will recommence from tomorrow Wednesday 12 March 2025, where it is safe to do so (flood waters, fallen powerlines, and other debris permitting).

Please put your bins out by 6.00am on your normal bin day (where it is safe to do so).

🏚️Waste transfer stations:
The Tamborine Mountain and Rathdowney Waste Transfer Stations will remain CLOSED until further notice.

The following Waste Transfer Stations will be OPEN for extended hours from Wednesday to Sunday:
• Boonah (8.00am - 5.00pm)
• Bromelton (8.00am - 5.00pm)
• Canungra (8.00am - 5.00pm)

The following two waste transfer stations will be open on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday:
• Kalbar (Wed: 1.00pm-5.00pm, Sat+Sun: 9.00am-12.00pm)
• Peak Crossing (Wed: 8.00am-5.00pm, Sat + Sun: 1.00pm-5.00pm)

These facilities can be utilised for disposal of excess household food waste as required.

🗑️Temporary bulk bins:
Temporary bulk bins have now arrived at the following locations and are accessible from 7.30am - 4.30pm:

👉Beechmont: 1908 Beechmont Road, Beechmont (Graceleigh Park) - just near the entrance to the car park.

👉Tamborine Mountain: 364-412 Long Road, Tamborine Mountain -just north of the Tamborine Mountain Sports Centre, on Long Road.

These bins are for perishable household waste only (such as the contents of a typical household kitchen bin). They are NOT for green waste or any other form of waste such as hazardous chemicals, bulky or commercial waste.

BEECHMOUNTAIN KIDS TO PERFORM AT CHINATOWN

Celebrate the Year of the Snake in Chinatown with entertainment, amazing food deals, kids’ activities and fireworks!

2025 is the Year of the Snake, representing wisdom and transformation.

Festivities will be kicking off at 3pm on Davenport and Young Streets where you can enjoy colourful entertainment including:

- lion and dragon dancers (Kids from the Beechmountain community will be performing)

- market stalls

- kids’ activities including lotus origami making, woodblock painting and Chinese calligraphy

- an interactive wishing tree

- fan and umbrella dancing

- fireworks finale at 7:30pm!

The $5 food safari is back and will have you snaking around Chinatown feasting on the best $5 deals Southport has to offer!

Cuppa in the Communi-tea

Reaching out with a cuppa and a friendly chat

The Scenic Rim Regional Council is hosting casual gatherings around the Scenic Rim and will be in Beechmont soon.

These free, accessible and inclusive events will connect residents with different service providers and council departments, offer technology support, or borrow some books from the Mobile Library Van.

They will have a free tube stock of a native plant to give away, plus the mini battery radio (see attached picture)

The Fire Ant Eradication team will be there with some live fire ants and the zero waste team.

Come and have a cuppa and a chat with them at Graceleigh Park on Wednesday, November 13, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Notification - PEST and W**D Control – 5/6th October.

Graceleigh Park - 1908 Beechmont Rd, Beechmont.

For the upkeep and maintenance of Graceleigh Park, pest and w**d control will be undertaken on Graceleigh Park on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October (weather permitting).

PARK - CLOSED between 08.00am and 2.30pm on both days. Signage will be installed to indicate the closure of the park.
