I am Kevin Zaw Tint, the founder of Catalyst Taekwondo club. My martial arts journey began at the age of 13 in 1993, in Myanmar, also known as Burma. From the very beginning, my dream was to represent my country in international tournaments through my training in Taekwondo. However, after four years of dedicated practice, I made the difficult decision to step away from Taekwondo. My ambition had s
hifted towards music, specifically becoming a guitarist. In 2001, my family migrated to Perth, Australia. It wasn't until 2004 that I felt the urge to return to Taekwondo, this time for the sake of physical exercise. I trained diligently for three years, but life circumstances once again pulled me away from the art. Yet, Taekwondo runs through my veins, and I couldn't stay away for too long. In 2014, I made the decision to fully commit to Taekwondo once again, and I have been practicing ever since. As time passed and I grew older, my approach to training Taekwondo transformed. At the time of my return, I had already become a family man with a son. Initially, I viewed Taekwondo solely as a sport, a means of training hard and winning medals. However, I soon realized that Taekwondo offers much more. It has the power to shape the mind and serve as a philosophy for living. Through my experiences studying under various academies and learning from different practitioners and masters, I have discovered aspects of Taekwondo that I had never known before. Witnessing the personal benefits that Taekwondo has brought to both myself and others, my ambition now lies in sharing what I have learned with the community. I derive great joy from teaching and assisting both young and adult practitioners. Each individual finds their own purpose in Taekwondo, based on their unique experiences. Thus, I named my club Catalyst Taekwondo, with the intention of aiding others on their journey. Just as a catalyst speeds up a chemical reaction, I aim to be a catalyst in your Taekwondo journey. Together, we can strive to achieve our goals, with the guidance and support that I am here to provide.
