𝗦𝗔 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦!

Team Flinders have brought home the Damien Sellar Memorial Trophy for the first time since 2014 with a thorough 21-13 win over Adelaide University at the SA Challenge lacrosse event on Friday 20 March.

With single teams from Adelaide Uni (freshly merged with UniSA) and Flinders entered, the trophy was contested in a single match of four quarters rather than the tournament format of past years.

After several heart-breaking near misses in recent years, Flinders broke out of the blocks to open up a 7-2 lead at quarter time, extending to 11-4 at the main break.

Adelaide Uni gave a stronger showing in the second half, but could only go goal for goal as Flinders responded to every Adelaide attack, and ending AU's dominance of the event with its emphatic win.

We are hoping to return to the national stage with the UniSport Nationals being staged in Perth in September. If you are an enrolled university student at Flinders and interested in taking part in this epic event, please get in touch with us now as we want to lock in our team early!

Well done Taylah!!

Wishing all the very best to 𝗞𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗩𝗼𝘆𝘀𝗲𝘆 and 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗮𝗵 𝗩𝗼𝘆𝘀𝗲𝘆 who are off to Buffalo in the USA where they will take part in the inaugural junior women's box lacrosse world championship that starts tomorrow!

𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝟮𝟬 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣𝗦

Over the past week we have had two of our Flinders Uni students representing Australia at the World Lacrosse Under 20 Women's Championships in Hong Kong!

𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗶 ( #3) and 𝗝𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 ( #20) have been doing their country (and their university) proud, as the Aussies swept through their pool, and yesterday defeated Wales in the quarter final.

This afternoon they are battling the might of the USA for a berth in Saturday's gold medal game!

We are proud of you both Holly and Jade and wish you the best in these championships!!!

Congrats to Jade Mangan who has been selected to the Flinders University Sport & Fitness Athlete Development Program this year

Jade is a member of the Australian Women's Lacrosse Under 20 team that will take part in this year's World Championships in Hong Kong, and it is great news to hear that she will have the support and access to all the benefits that Flinders Uni's ADP will offer!

𝗙𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 & 𝗙𝗜𝗧𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗔 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗦 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧

🏆 An amazing night on Friday, where we were awarded the 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 for our strong showing at the UniSport Nationals, being Flinders Uni's best performing team at the Nationals and the best placed South Australian team in the lacrosse tournament!

We also had two of our players presented with individual awards!
