Winter 2026 Wrap up: Grand Final

Division 2

Flinders vs Adelaide 17 - 3 W

THIS MOMENT RIGHT HERE!!! 👏 👏 👏

Flinders are your Michael Beech Division 2 SAWBA champions!!🏆 🏆

Huge moment in time for this crew for what feels like a long time coming. Could not be happier to be on the field with this great bunch of guys who delivered dominant baseball when it was their time to shine! 🌟

Adelaide is always one to watch and play disciplined, intelligent baseball and never to be underestimated. We have had a blast playing them over the season and they deserved to be fighting in the big dance with us. 🕺

-Ethan Schreier MVP, with nothing but pure class on the hill throwing a complete game, then backing it up at the plate knowing the job wasnt done 🎩

- Adam Wurfel again with the power of Sophie on his side licking a stamp and sending a baseball into another postcode 💣

- You're not wrong if you think Dennis Wright can't play everywhere, starting at 2B and giving us range and depth 🏃‍♂️

- The whole squad coming together to live and breathe the Flinders values, backing each other in, making the plays and most importantly, having fun playing the game we all love. 💙🤍

Join me in congratulating these guys, they have battle hard and earned their new jewellery, but we couldnt have made it without your support!

Thankyou to everyone who has umpired, scored, volunteered and supported across the season! We can't do it without you! ❤️

Winter 2026 Wrap up: Grand Final

Division 3

Varsity vs Flinders 11 - 0 L

The grand final was a clash of the university titans with Flinders heading to Glenelg for an early morning skirmish against the powerhouse Varsity 🌄

Varsity had studied hard in their week off and took out top honours 📖 🏆

Congratulations to the Varsity side, a win well deserved!

When looking at what our div 3 team accomplished this year, looking at their growth, energy and commitment to improvement it gives you an enormous sense of achievement. 💙🤍

This squad deserved to be in the GF and it won't be the last of them we see up there I think! 💪

- Charlotte's defence unwavering in tough conditions with a huge catch at 2B 😤

- Jack battling the elements and unleashing lightning bolts on the hill ⚡️

- Sheung's resilience behind the dish unfazed by the wet and wild conditions 🌧

These names and faces will seem all but too familiar as we prepare now for the summer season ahead. This side will take their grit and determination into warmer conditions 🌞

Winter 2026 Grand Final Wrap up

Division 1

Flinders vs Woodville 4 - 9 L

Our Div 1 boys took on the Woodville side in 9 innings of intense baseball. As anyone will tell you finals baseball is anyones game! Unfortunately it wasn't our day.

Congratulations to Woodville on their win, always a great time playing against this crew and their strength and determination shined through on what was a wet and windy day. 🌧

Having a dedicated Div 1 competition this year was a treat and we got the see both these teams battle hard for glory.

- Not sure what they put in that syrup eh? but it builds them different, Kiefer with a no doubt HR sending a ball into orbit 🛰

- Ashton with the lethal left hand dealing damage as starting pitcher. ⛽️

- Flinders poster child Harry, doing what he does best and giving us the best opportunity to fight back closing out the game in style 📸

All the best to the guys as they transition now into their summer campaigns with their respective clubs. Take the energy and determination of winter into summer and I look forward to reading the highlights!! 💙🤍

Winter 26 Wrap Up: Elimination Final

Division 3: Flinders vs Red Sox 10 - 5 W 🎊

WHAT. 👏 A. 👏 GAME. 👏

With the ticket to the Grand Final on the line, both teams put on a display of grit and determination, digging deep to do their teams proud. 💪

A huge shout out to the Redsox team. Having the privilege of being able to score this game showed me exactly why they deserved to be in finals contention! A great day for baseball! 📣

With the home ground advantage and the crowd support from the Div 1's, 2's and 4's, the energy was palpable ⚡️

- Jack solidifying his position as a starting pitcher, going the distance with 3 innings and keeping Flinders ahead ⛽️

- Hit them with the old Raz(zle) and Daz(zle) letting nothing through the left side, elite at 3B and SS 🕺 🕺

- Jacqui, master of the art of deception, not only pumping the zone as middle relief, with 2 *BEAUTIFUL* pick offs into run downs that resulted in outs. 🥷🥷

- The quality at bats never stopped, no easy outs were coming, our lineup getting on base however we could, putting runners in scoring position to accelerate in the late stages. 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️

- Chris (Sunshine) Fanning locking in and throwing beams of lefty light in the last 2 innings closing out what was a brilliant game 🌞 ☄️

Huge win for the Division 3 team, securing them another chance to go head to head with Varsity next weekend in the big dance!

Winter 26 Wrap up: Semi Finals Division 1

Flinders vs Woodville 11 - 9 W

Now because for some reason getting photos of Div 1 games is unusually hard (even had 9 innings and I didn't get one!) You have these two strapping Div 3 gents 🤵‍♂️🤵‍♂️

A see sawing game that started with a bang. Woodville lead off batter hitting a home run.

The Flinders line up was undeterred, knowing they could answer as soon as the opportunity arose with every player knowing their part.

- Abe Squire starting the bump throwing 5 quality innings (5k's) and his own quality at bats with 2 hits.

- Liam Allen as lead off - 3 hits and 2 valuable RBI's. 💎 💎

- Sam Galpin 3 hit day other a single, double and a 3 run no doubter. 💣 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️

- Kiefer Roworth showing he is a stud of a player 3 hits and 3 rbis. 🐎

- Jarrad Gray & Ollie Fielder both with 2 hits.

- Ashton Bradley finishing off the last 4 innings in immaculate fashion and getting the save. ✅️

The win topping off a massive day for Flinders with 2 wins at home and 2 tickets punched to the Grand final on the 5th of September.

This young Div 1 squad showing that they can dig deep when the pressure is on and play their brand of baseball. ⚾️

Winter 26 Wrap up: Semi Final Division 3

Flinders vs Varsity 7 - 17 L

Not the day the guys were hoping to have on the weekend but as Jack would say "There is no place I would rather be" 💙🤍

Varsity came in hot and we couldn't quite string together the offence and defence that we needed but we get a second look this weekend and who doesn't love an underdog? 🐕

- Sheng putting on a catching master-class behind the dish 🥣

- Jasper going 3 for 4 with a hot bat 🔥

- Jack pumping the zone in the back end to try and slow the Varsity roll ⛽️

Onto this weekend where the 3's take on Redsox at home at 9am, it's bound to be action packed with both teams edging for a spot in the big 🕺
