A warm welcome back to Honeypot Sailing, with skipper Nick Mcelwee returning for another Launceston to Hobart Yacht Race campaign.

The Hick 35 from Port Dalrymple Yacht Club previously competed in the race in 2020, 2021 and 2025, and will be back on the start line for the 2026 20th anniversary race.

Starting on home waters at the top of the Tamar, will that early advantage be enough to see Honey Pot on the podium when she arrives in Hobart?

We look forward to welcoming Honey Pot and her crew back to the fleet for the 2026 Knest Modular Homes Launceston to Hobart Yacht Race.

Winners are Grinners - Bokprint winter series at Port Dalrymple Yacht Club with team HoneyPot bringing home the chocolates (and the big pointy trophy) 🏆 thanks to all who crewed for the season and to all the volunteers, sponsors and competitors for keeping the heat on and off the water!

Honeypot is a Hick designed boat now racing out of Beauty Point. She has undergone continuous maintenance and upgrades maintaining Cat 2 for offshore racing. Honeypot is regularly sailed meaning all running gear is in good order. Since owning the boat we have completed 3 x Launceston to Hobart, Bruny Island race, 3 Hummock and a crossing to Melb and back for Melb2Dev.
All electronics have been improved and added to including -
B&G Vulcan chart plotter
2 x ray marine I70’s multi function in cockpit and 2 I60’s on mast.
2 x I60’s at nav station with I pad mount to connect to B&G network.
ICom VHF with DSC
AIS installed
Satellite phone with external aerial installed.
Simrad Tiller steer auto helm.
