What a day for BLTC! 🎾

A huge congratulations to Belis Gulener on taking out the 3K King’s Birthday Championships after an incredible tournament run, capped off by a nail-biting final.

Belis, who represents BLTC in Grade 1 Pennant and has already stepped up to State Grade this season, continues to show why she’s one of the brightest young talents around. Her dedication, work ethic and love for the game are paying off in a big way.

A special shoutout to coach Kibet, who has played a huge role in Belis’ development and success. 💪❤️

The final was made even more special as Belis faced Zahra Arthur, who is coached by BLTC’s Duje. A fantastic showcase of young talent and coaching excellence.

We’re incredibly proud to have Belis as part of the BLTC family and can’t wait to see what’s next. 👏🔥

🎾 Red Ball Match Play Day 🎾

One of the most important steps in a young player’s tennis journey is learning how to take the skills they practise in lessons and apply them in a real match.

Our invitation-only Red Ball Match Play event gave our Stage 3 players the opportunity to serve, rally, score, compete, and most importantly, have fun in a supportive match-play environment.

These events help build confidence, develop match skills, prepare players for competition tennis, and create a deeper connection to the sport.

The kids absolutely loved it, and it was fantastic to see so much sportsmanship, effort, improvement, and smiling faces throughout the day. Congratulations to all of our players and award winners! 🏆

Our Coach Supervised Hot Shots Match Play is the perfect next step for Orange Ball and Green Ball players to practice everything they’ve been learning during the week in a real match environment.

Players will learn:
✔️ How to score properly
✔️ Where to stand
✔️ Singles match play
✔️ Serving and returning
✔️ Match positioning and etiquette
✔️ How to build confidence playing real points

This is the ideal way for young players to transition lesson skills into proper tennis matches while having fun, competing for prizes, and learning under coach guidance.

Orange Ball: 3 PM to 5 PM
Green Ball: 3 PM to 5 PM

Small changes = big improvements 🎾

Vivienne’s forehand swing was travelling too far behind her body, so we introduced a simple intervention drill using the basket as a physical cue to help shorten the backswing and improve timing.

We also worked on keeping the racquet connected to the fence during practice swings — a great way to develop better swing shape, cleaner technique, and more efficient movement patterns.

The goal isn’t just hitting balls… it’s building strong fundamentals the right way from the start 👏🎾

One of the biggest mistakes players make when trying to add power to their serve is relying too much on the arm. Real power starts from the ground up — loading your weight onto the back leg and then driving upwards. This creates way more explosive power and consistency on the serve 🎾🔥. April was non-stop at the club 🎾

We kept the courts buzzing with holiday programs, packed schedules of lessons, and plenty of hitting sessions—no court was left untouched!

SETA also hosted competitive UTR rating matches, bringing great energy and competition over the Easter holidays!

A highlight was our Hot Shot girls clinic at Melbourne Park, inspiring the next generation and showcasing some fantastic talent.

Thanks to everyone who made April such a huge success—bring on more tennis in May!
