ROUND 9 IS HERE 🐦💙🖤

A huge day of footy ahead this Saturday with Kingies teams spread across both home and away games!

We’ve got a massive lineup of home games at the Birdcage (RS Willis Park), so come down, bring the family and get behind our teams. There’s nothing quite like game day at home — big hits, great footy and plenty of Kingies spirit. 🔥

From our littlest Mini fields right through to our older divisions and girls teams, there’ll be action all day long.

HAACK LOGISTICS DMC TEAM LIST
ROUND 12

The team is set for another big challenge this Sunday as our Beaudesert Kingfishers Haack Logistics DMC side travels to take on the Mudgeeraba Redbacks.

After another strong week on the training paddock, the boys are ready to test themselves against quality opposition in what promises to be a hard-fought contest.

Congratulations to everyone selected this week. Pull on the blue, black and white with pride, back your teammates, and enjoy every minute out there.

💛❤️🖤 NAIDOC Week Community Celebration 💛❤️🖤

This year Mununjali is celebrating 50 years of NAIDOC on Saturday 4 July with a free community event at Jubilee Park from 9:00am–1:30pm.

The day will begin with a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and Traditional Dance, followed by a fantastic family fun day featuring rides, activities, market stalls and plenty more.

We know many of our families will be involved in football throughout the day, but if you have some time before heading to RS Willis Park for our Matthew Gee Memorial Old Boys Round, we encourage you to stop by and support this important community event.

It's a great opportunity to celebrate culture, connect with community and support many of our Indigenous Kingies families who will be involved throughout the day.

🐦 Kingfishers U7 Black

Tackle Ready Gala #3

On Sunday we played at Soggy Parkwood Sharks and our first game of tackle for the season!

First up we watched the Kingfishers Blue and cheered them from the sidelines…. What an incredible game, well done boys.

Game one was against Southport Tigers Black. The kids played with heart and soul in the slippery conditions on the field. We lost a great player Knox who had an incredible game until he was injured. The team showed up in every way.

Game two we played against Coomera Cutters White. We had to borrow two players from our Kingfisher blue team to make the team with no subs left. Huge shout out to Weston and Isaac for stepping in. We lost sight of the field of play with all the lines no existent by the end of the days play but gave it a good crack. Well done team.

Some of our U13 and U14 boys, along with their coaches, headed back to Beaudesert Boxing Club this week for an extra pre-origin training session.

The boys were lucky enough to train alongside none other than Beaudesert’s own,
Dylan Biggs - The Beaudesert Storm, gaining valuable experience while working on their fitness, strength, and stamina.

A huge thank you to Justin and Dylan for welcoming our players and investing their time into helping our young athletes develop both on and off the footy field.

This is exactly what community is all about. Strong local clubs and businesses supporting one another to create opportunities for our kids. It’s something we’re passionate about continuing to build at Kingies, and partnerships like these are the backbone of that vision.

A reminder to all our teams that Justin is always keen to support our players with boxing sessions, so don’t be afraid to reach out!

Our Scenic Rim Discount Drug Store Senior Open Women’s braved the weather for a tough match up this week. The Fassifern Bombers made the way to the Bird cage and from the buzzer it was an intense game.

30 minutes of hard footy resulted with a try From Maresha that was converted by Kiara to leave us at 6 nil at half time. The second half brought more challengers as Fassifern scored early in the second half but with out a conversion our Ladies were still in the lead.

Another strong half for both teams as they battled to stay in front but with a try and conversion from our little shop Player of the match Kiara, we were up by 8. Fassifern however kept the pressure on scoring a try and converting to bring the score to 12/10.

But the Kingies held on and finished the game with 2 points in front give the team there first home victory of the season. The girls played their hearts out and I couldn’t be more proud of them.

Huge thanks to Fassifern, our committee members, our sponsors and of course everyone who came down to support the team. Next week we are back again to take on Nerang Roosters at home to hopefully do it all again!

The boys have been wanting to play in the rain for so long and on Saturday, they finally got their wish!

Under 12 Blue took on Helensvale in a wet, muddy battle that made even holding onto the ball tough! We were down a couple of key players, but the boys knuckled down and every player played their part.

This season we have seen huge development in the boys’ skills but what has impressed us most is their attitude and commitment to working together as a team.

Earning themselves a Hungry Jacks Player of the Match award this week we had Jacob D, Oliver, Kane and Xavier. And a big thank you to Max for filling in. Well done boys.
