RECOMMITTED FOR 2027 💙🏉

Brooke led from the front throughout 2026 as one of our womens co-captains.
She not only played all 14 games, but also every position you can think of on a football field.

Her strong season was recognised by winning our clubs best and fairest. While also coming 2nd in the league goal kicking, 4th in the league best and fairest, as well as making the league’s team of the year.

It’s safe to say that Brooke provided us all with some of our best highlights of 2026, in what was a developing season for our womens team as a whole.

Brooke is strong overhead, tough in the contest and lightening quick. She plays wherever the team needs her and never complains. A true leader who lifts others up around her.

At only 21, we can’t wait to see what Brooke can do in 2027!

🔵⚪ WANT TO HELP THE WICKERS BUT HATE BEING ON A COMMITTEE?

We are looking for 7 people to join our new Club Leadership Team for 2027.

These are not committee positions.

There are no meetings, no sitting around a boardroom table and no expectation that you take on the responsibility of running the whole club.

Instead, each Lead will get involved in one area they are passionate about and work with other volunteers to help make things happen.
We are looking for:

📈 Football Development Lead– Developing our players, coaches, recruitment and football pathways.

🏉 Men's Football Operations Lead– Keeping our men's football programs organised and running smoothly.

👩 Women's Football Operations Lead – Help grow, support and strengthen our women’s football program.

🎉 Club Experience Lead– Making being a Wicker a great experience.

📣 Community & Engagement Lead– Building our membership, communication and connection with the Wickers community.

🏟️ Club & Facilities Lead– Helping keep our grounds, equipment and facilities at their best.

🤝 Partnerships & Fundraising Lead– Building great relationships with sponsors and the Wickers community.

You might have football experience. You might have business, community, events, marketing, building or fundraising skills. Or you might simply have an idea and the energy to make it happen.

The commitment is flexible and focused. You don't need to be at the club every week. You don't need to attend committee meetings. You don't need to take on the world.
Just pick an area, get involved and make a difference.

If you would like to find out more, or think you could contribute, we would love to hear from you.

Sadly, Jesse Cirulis has informed the club of his decision to retire from football.

Jesse is the definition of a one-club player. Loyalty has always meant everything to him, and throughout his career he has given an enormous amount to the Berwick Football Club.

Starting in the Under 10s back in 2007, Jesse's journey is one that few can match. Along the way he celebrated four premierships: Under 18s (2015), Under 19s (2016), Reserves (2017) and Seniors (2018), before establishing himself as one of the club's most respected senior players. In 2025, he was proudly appointed Senior Vice-Captain.

His performances were recognised beyond Berwick in 2024 when he was selected in the EFNL Premier Men's 40-player Team of the Year squad, a fitting reward for his outstanding football.

As a ruckman, Jesse had the ability to change games. His presence around the contest gave our midfield first use, and when Big Siff was up and about, his teammates seemed to walk a little taller. He brought an edge, competitiveness and physicality that lifted those around him. He was admired by teammates, respected by opponents, and embodied what it means to represent the Wickers.

Unfortunately, the past few seasons have seen Jesse endure more than his fair share of injuries, spending significant time on the sidelines. Despite those setbacks, his commitment to the club never wavered.

Jesse, thank you for everything you have given to Berwick Football Club. Thank you for the memories, the premierships, the leadership and the countless sacrifices made along the way.

We'll miss seeing you lead the club on a Saturday.

Enjoy the next chapter, mate. You've certainly earned it
