With over 1,200 registered players, our football club is the heart and soul of local sport. We aren't asking for extra space; we are fighting to protect the soccer pitches and spaces we already have so we never have to turn local boys and girls away. โฝ
Backed by aย $7.5 million joint investment, the Hilton Park Precinct Master Plan is a balanced, well-designed project built on nearly a decade of planning and extensive community consultation involving thousands of local residents. While the proposal involves removing 26 trees, the City of Fremantle has committed to replacing every single one withย two native treesย right within the reserve.
For our soccer community, this Master Plan is essential: it protects our playing and training spaces from destructive overcrowding, delivers crucial upgrades to our very ownย Fremantle City Football Club clubhouse, and renews theย Ken Allen change rooms and toiletsย so our girls and boys have safe, modern facilities. The proposed additional junior AFL oval for the Fremantle City Dockers Junior Football Club also provides them with the space they need while preventing heavy pressure on our shared soccer fields.
Community sport delivers benefits that reach far beyond the pitch, building physical and mental wellbeing, teamwork, resilience, friendships, and strong neighborhood connections.
Right as this long-awaited, community-backed project is finally ready to move forward, it risks being blocked at a crucial moment by a very small handful of voices who chose not to engage during years of planning and consultation.
