A Note from the President
Yesterday's C5R Grand Final concluded our season 2026. While the final score and outcome wasn't the result we wanted and have worked for, its now time to reflect and look back with pride and gratitude on the season that's been.
- 4 teams
- 3 grand finals
- 2x minor premiers
- 2x grade promotion
- 1 back to back flag
All in all its been a hugely successful year, and this is something to celebrate! Our culture, our people, our football programs, our staff and our volunteers all remain extremely strong and have contributed hugely to this success.
We've worked hard for many years as a Club to build a strong culture and ensure our Club is a place where players, family, friends, staff and volunteers feel supported, welcomed and empowered. Empowered to develop and implement strong and sustainable programs. Empowered to be their authentic selves. Empowered to give their best on and off field. For so many the Club is family, somewhere they know they will be welcomed and supported. It is this culture that has contributed to our ongoing growth and success, something we place enormous value on and continue to develop.
This season could not be possible without the hard work of so many. The Coaches who worked tirelessly to develop our squads and prepare them for the season. The Team Managers who turned up week in week out to ensure our teams got on the field. The Trainers who strapped, massaged and bandaged us through the year. The Volunteers who gave their time and effort on and off field, setting up, running water, running for the Coach, umpiring, working at the Club, the players turning up on those cold winter week nights and each weekend, the supporters on the sidelines cheering us on, and the Committee, who's tireless hours behind the scenes planning and preparing for the year made this possible.
As season 2026 closes and we turn towards our preparations for season 2027, its a heartfelt thank you to all, let's enjoy the downtime and celebrate that season that's been, with all its highlights, its triumphs, its heartbreaks, its milestones and its memories. And let's keep asking the question - how can we leave this Club better than we found it.
