Congratulations to Feona Henness OAM!
The HDLA community is absolutely thrilled to congratulate Feona on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the Hills District community, particularly through her long-term volunteer leadership in youth sport and her dedication to cancer support initiatives, including HILLS Relay For Life.
Feona’s contribution to our Club has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Her volunteer journey began in 2011 when she stepped up as an Age Manager, a role she fulfilled with enthusiasm and dedication for many years. In 2013/14, she joined our Committee as a General Member, and from there her commitment to the Club only grew.
Over the years, Feona has held numerous key positions, including:
⭐ Publicity Officer for 9 years (2014/15–2022/23)
⭐ Treasurer for 5 years (2016/17–2020/21)
⭐ Canteen volunteer, assisting with ordering and organisation
⭐ Information Officer at Zone Carnivals for over a decade, dedicating countless hours across each event weekend.
Through her leadership, generosity, reliability and passion for helping others, Feona has played a significant role in shaping and strengthening our Club. Her willingness to always step forward, support our athletes and families, and contribute wherever needed has left a lasting impact on generations of members.
This OAM is a fitting recognition of a remarkable volunteer whose dedication has enriched our Club and the wider Hills community.
On behalf of everyone at HDLA, congratulations Feona and thank you for your outstanding service. We are incredibly proud of you and grateful for everything you have done for our Club and our community.
