Even as a Personal Trainer, I have those days.

You know the ones… you’re driving to the gym thinking, “I really don’t want to do this today.” The motivation just isn’t there, you’ve got a million things you’d rather do like ride or wash my horse, work has been hectic, and the everything else sounds far more appealing.

But I go anyway.

And here’s the thing, I have never once finished a workout and thought, “I wish I hadn’t done that.”

Not every session needs to be your best. Sometimes the biggest win is simply showing up. The days when you don’t feel like training are often the days that build the most discipline, confidence, and consistency.

Motivation comes and goes, but habits keep you moving forward.

So if you’re struggling to find the motivation today, make a deal with yourself, just go. Start. Give yourself 10 minutes, even if you can’t wear trainers, note the pic 😂

More often than not, you’ll be glad you did.

🦴 Why Calcium Matters More Than Ever After 40 🦴

As we move through our 40s and beyond, especially during perimenopause and menopause, our bodies go through significant hormonal changes. One of the biggest changes is the decline in oestrogen, which plays a key role in maintaining strong, healthy bones.

This is why calcium becomes so important.

Without adequate calcium intake, bone density can decrease, increasing the risk of osteopenia, osteoporosis, and fractures later in life.

To support your bone health:

✅ Include calcium-rich foods such as dairy products, Greek yoghurt, cheese, tofu, almonds, and leafy green vegetables.
✅ Ensure you're getting enough Vitamin D to help your body absorb calcium effectively.
✅ Most importantly, participate in regular strength training.
✅ Use a calcium supplement. I’ve included the one I use which was recommended to me by the pharmacist but please make sure you speak to somebody with the qualifications to guide you as to which one would suit you best.

Lifting weights isn't just about building muscle, it places healthy stress on your bones, encouraging them to stay stronger and denser as you age.

The combination of adequate calcium, Vitamin D, and resistance training is one of the most effective strategies for maintaining bone health, muscle mass, balance, and independence throughout life.

Remember, it's never too late to start investing in your future health. Your body will thank you for it.

Meet our Reform Coaches

Let’s get to know more about our very lovely and talented Tracey.

“Just over 25 years in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer and Instructor, and I’m proud to say Fitness First has been a huge part of that journey, both here in Australia and overseas.

From my love of teaching Cycle classes and lifting weights, to now introducing Reform into both my own training and coaching, it’s been a great challenge yet rewarding transition as an instructor.

Living with chronic neck pain myself has also shaped the way I coach. I understand that every body is different with individual reasons why they train which is why I’m passionate about making sure there’s always an option for everyone in my classes, whether you’re pushing hard, starting out, rebuilding strength, or simply showing up for yourself.

After all these years, helping people feel stronger, healthier, and more confident still never gets old.”

Strength training will always be the foundation when it comes to building muscle, improving metabolism, increasing bone density and feeling stronger in everyday life.

But adding Reformer Pilates into your routine can take things to another level
