Congratulations to Peter Byrne for representing Australia at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea. In the 65-69 age category, Peter finished 11th in the 5k in a time of 20:44 and 9th in the 8k Cross Country in a time of 35:57. From what we've heard, the conditions were next level. From changeable weather to extreme heat and humidity. This picture shows it, in addition to Pete being an athlete who gives it all when racing. It will be interesting to hear his experiences when he is back at training.

On 22nd August, the Australian Cross Country Championships were held at Victoria Park, Ballarat. By all accounts, the ground was soaked and the course was covered in mud- check out some of the before and after pictures. Hills District Senior Club had 9 runners and won 1 medal. This is a major national event and an achievement to represent NSW against the best in Australia:

Congratulations to Zoe Woods for winning the U20 10k at the Australian Junior Race Walking Championships for a second consecutive year. Zoe achieved a PB of 47:22 and was 6 minutes ahead of 2nd place. She is also the 10th fastest U20 Australian of all time.

Hills native Isaac Beecroft captured the Men's 10,000m Race Walk gold medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on August 1. He finished the race in 38:45.51 seconds ahead of Kenya's Stephan Ndangiri Kihu.
