Strong performances across the weekend!!

Sunday night was Round 1 of the 2022 V8SCOPS championship at the amazing Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. The 250km race provided some close racing a of course a few incidents. Luckily I was able to keep the car off the walls and other cars for the entire 58 laps to come home in 14th after starting 25th. Considering I didn't have the greatest pace, I think it shows we've got a lot to look forward to for the rest of the year.

Tuesday night was the East Coast V8 Series around Montreal as well for another 250km. This time we started 4th and came home in 2nd as the SSR crew cleaned up the podium as well as 6th and 7th.

Cheers to the all the boys at Synergy Sim Racing for their continued effort to make this all possible.

Looking forward to the first round of the V8 SCOPS Premier Series this weekend at Montreal.

I'm not sure who let me have the keys to this beast of a machine but hopefully I can get some good results with it.

Cheers to the boys in the background at Synergy Sim Racing that keep the clock ticking.

Daytona 24 Hour

Adam Briggs, Jamie McKnight, Scott Nolan and myself tackled the first endurance race of the year in the trusty Synergy Sim Racing LMP2.

Starting out of 10th position, we got off to a nice clean start and made up a few positions. But that's where our luck ended. Unfortunately getting the Iberian treatment only an hour in, resulting in the car going 10 laps down and still carrying some damage.

From here we pushed forward and didn't give up and finished in 13th. The lads still managed to hold some awesome pace through the race and keep the car off the walls and away from other cars for the rest of the race. If it wasn't for the first incident, there would've been a strong push for at least a podium.

Looking forward to many more races this year with them again. And cheers to Damon Mulqueen for the sick as photos. 🤙

Yesterday Hayden Veld and myself took to the Vast Motorsport Bathurst 1000 in the United Sim Sports ZB Commodore.

With an early race incident we thought we'd be over and out but fortunately stayed on the lead lap. Down in last on the Safety Car restart Hayden pushed on and was able to get the car back into the top 10. From there we continued our climb up the grid and with Post Race penalties we finished the race on the Podium in 2nd.

Well done to the Evolution Racing Team on the win and P3!

Thanks to Bowler Media on the mean as mid race snaps.

Sunday was our first race after making the switch to United Sim Sports. Starting 17th, the 500km race started off poorly after being caught up in a massive turn 4 shunt. the remaining 112 laps we played catch up and managed to crawl all the way back to 17th. Although the result doesn't show much the race pace was promising and we hope to take that forward to the Bathurst 1000 in just a couple weeks. Thanks to the guys at United Sim Sports and Synergy Sim Racing for all the work they put into every race weekend.

A massive thank you to Simon at Jinx Shifters. From placing the order to personally receiving the shifter hand to hand, I cannot say enough about the quality and craftsmanship of his shifters. It is one bloody awesome piece of kit!

After a few weeks off it is time to get back in the car. The Enduro Cup kicks off today with the Imola 500. After learning new things with the car Hayden Veld and myself are looking at a shot of a good finishing position.

A Shootout will begin at 1:20pm where every car gets the chance at a one lap dash. The race will then start at 3:00pm and there are no doubts it will action packed. You can catch the stream at V8SCOPS here on FB or at SimSpeed TV on YT.

Last weekend saw round 9 of V8 SCOPS. With a good pre-qualifying hopes were up going into the race.

Unfortunately qualifying didn't go to plan and put us in a lousy 27th on the grid. A good start though would gain us a few positions in the first couple laps and would put us very close to the top 20.

Having completed the mandatory 2 pitstops by lap 20, we were in with a very good finishing position. Climbing our way towards the top 10. tyre was becoming very noticeable and was starting to hamper corner exit grip.

Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be, being bumped into the fence with 20 laps to go then again into the turn 1 fence 10 laps later on a safety car restart.

At least a positive to take away from the weekend is we are starting to find the speed and setting the car up to start battling in the top 10.

Now on to the first Enduro Cup race at Imola in two weeks time.
