What a privilege it was last night, to attend David Rowland’s movie, The Submerged Batemans Coast at our clubhouse. It was an amazing insight into what lies beneath the Bay and our coast. With over 80 attendees I think we can say this evening was a great success!

Coila Lake Race Officer Terry Paton reports: Sunday’s race wraps up our Series and the final Series Scores are on the BBSC website. Congratulations to winners Outlaw, Spark, Wahoo Too and A Power, but thanks all for coming and sailing with us.

The results of Sunday’s racing are now on the website. Note I have arbitrarily used the same yardstick as a Heron for our newcomers the Tasman Tiger and Northeaster Dory, will do some more research during the off season as these boats are not currently listed on the Australian Sailing list of yardsticks.

Special thanks to Stephen who put his hand up for the substantial task of making it all happen this season, and to Jacqui and Graham who have fed us, to volunteers old and new who have driven our Support Boat, and to everybody for maintaining the pleasant environment of helping each other.

And remember our fun/wind-down day on Sunday 3 May, hope the weather remains benign. Terry’s photos show Fred and Graham on Jaybee, two cats, Spark, Wahoo, A Power, May, Cheetah and No New Coal and Gas.

Last Coila Race Day this Sunday!
Race Officer Terry Paton reports: The coming Sunday 19 April will be the last scheduled racing day of the 2025/6 season. To help consider what sailors need to do, in order to move up or down the pecking order, the Series Scores to date have been posted on the BBSC website.
Several spots remain in hot contention; a few are more like a lap-of-honour.
As usual, we hope to hold the briefing at 11:00 or soon after (noting that daylight saving is finished) and hold two consecutive races. The forecast is good and the water is still warm.

The 2026 Batemans Bay Anzac Regatta scheduled for April 25th and 26th has been cancelled due to the fuel situation and inoperability of our committee boat "Dave Magill". We will be organising refunds for everyone who has already entered. We will be holding the famous BBSC curry night a day early on Friday April 24th.

The Anzac Regatta will be back in 2027 on April 24th and 25th.
