Vale Lindsay Johnston

Swan Districts Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of a Life Member and premiership player, Lindsay Johnston, aged 89.

Lindsay played 27 games at Swans from 1959-1961, most notably in the 1961 Premiership team. Lindsay was awarded Life Membership in 1985, for his dedicated involvement as a player representative, Umpire Advisor, director and player.

Lindsay dedicated much of his time after his run at Swans as a WANFL Umpire, including umpiring and officiating in the 1971 WAFL Grand Final.

In 2021, Lindsay was awarded Life Membership of the Swan Districts Past Players and Officials Association.

Remembered as a true Swans man with plenty of stories to tell, Lindsay will be sorely missed by friends, family, former teammates and the greater Swans community.

Our deepest condolences are with all who knew him. Rest in peace Lindsay.

If you've ever parked at in our main carpark at Steel Blue Oval on game days, you would know Trevor.

From early in the morning, rain, hail or shine, Trev is manning our carpark, with a good story to tell anyone who's on the parking list (no name on the list? no way you're getting past Trev).

June marks 30 years Trev has given up his Saturday mornings for us, and we're so grateful for the dedication Trevor has shown Swans since the 90's. Thank you Trevor!

This is more than just footy, no matter what your level of ability and function you get to enjoy the day alongside Swans All Abilities players at Steel Blue Oval, with activities including resilience building, making connections and the importance of a healthy body and mind.
