Day 2 is done and dusted at Bar-Rook for the 2026 Golden Rivers Classic.
Sunday dawned as the perfect winter’s day – mild and windless – ideal conditions for our 282 competitors who were eagerly awaiting what lay ahead.
The first three squads hit the ground at 8:00am, and we were off and running.
There are so many people who deserve recognition for making the weekend such a success. The amount of work that goes on behind the scenes is immense and often goes unnoticed.
Our course setters have been hard at work, not only in the lead-up to the event but throughout the day itself and afterwards as well. From setting up the courses and keeping traps filled, to the arduous task of packing everything away at the end, their efforts are greatly appreciated.
A massive thank you to Doug, Greg, Harrison, Chris and Andrew, who managed Ground A. Ground B was expertly handled by Troy, Jack and Mick, while Pat, Chappy and Steve took care of Ground C.
To everyone else who lent a hand along the way – whether big or small – thank you. Every bit of help makes a difference, and your time, effort and commitment are what help make events like the Golden Rivers Classic possible.
Without our major sponsors, we simply would not be able to offer the wonderful prizes that we do.
We are extremely grateful to CLUBARHAM, BRONZE WING AUSTRALIA and NSI LAPORTE, who have once again stepped up to support us. We are very fortunate to have you on board. Thank you for your continued generosity.
While we're handing out thanks, special recognition must also go to our kitchen crew of hardworking helpers. They did an exceptional job keeping everything running smoothly throughout the day. With so many delicious treats on offer, they were kept busy from start to finish.
A special mention also goes to the mother-and-daughter team of Margie and Annalee, who generously baked up a storm and donated an amazing selection of cakes, slices, biscuits and other goodies. Your kindness and generosity were greatly appreciated.
Thank you all for helping make the day such a success.
On the subject of food, we certainly can't forget our handy team of breakfast cooks. The delicious bacon and egg sandwiches were a real hit and kept everyone well fed throughout the morning. A huge thank you to Eric, Chris, Greg and Harrison, who expertly manned the BBQ and served up breakfast with a smile. To anyone else who stepped in to lend a hand, your assistance was greatly appreciated. Thank you all.
Our office team also deserves special recognition. Jan, Linda and Emily were kept on their toes all day, ensuring everything ran smoothly and on schedule. Their organisation, efficiency and attention to detail helped keep the day under control from start to finish. Thank you, ladies, for your hard work and dedication – a magnificent job well done.
Congratulations to 2 competitors attainting a possible throughout the day.
On Ground B, Round 3 BART BRIGHENTI shot the first 25.
