Will, 22 years old.

Right now, Will’s goal is to build some muscle, get stronger, and lock into a routine that works around uni and his part-time job in finance.

When he started training with me, he’d never really spent time in a gym before. In a short period of time, he’s built a solid foundation and is already deadlifting, benching, and leg pressing 80kg.

What I’m most impressed by is the consistency he’s shown while balancing study, work, and everything else that comes with being in your early 20s.

Bodyweight dips on the old push day 💪!

One thing I’ve really come to appreciate is the importance of warming up properly. The older I get, the more I realise those days of jumping straight into heavy weights or chasing a PB with no warm-up are well and truly behind me.

A few extra minutes spent preparing your body can make a huge difference to how you move, how you perform, and how you recover afterwards.

Deadlifts and I have had a bit of a love/hate relationship 😂.

A few years ago I was the king of just loading the bar up and hoping for the best.

Since then I’ve been putting more focus into proper form, warm ups, mobility, recovery and actually taking care of my body 💪!

Big credit to my coach for helping clean up my technique and approach over the last little while 💪!

Still a work in progress, but that’s the point. Small improvements over time add up.

Goal now: 130kg deadlift before the end of the year 👀

If he’s not grabbing a coffee from The Bunker in Milton, he’s out running or on the bike. When David first came to me, he had one clear goal: build upper‑body strength to match the engine he already has in his legs.
Every Monday arvo—right in the chaos of peak hour with the tradies, chippies and gym rats—David shows up and gets it done. Week after week, he’s putting in the work, pushing himself (sometimes a little too hard on the 1–10 weight scale… he’s an “11” kind of guy).
