We’re incredibly thankful for the opportunity to continue working alongside Barden Ridgebacks FC and supporting the development of their players 🙌

Our Development & Skills Program kicks off this Friday and runs from 9th May – 3rd July

PROGRAM SCHEDULE
🕟 4:30 – 5:30pm | U6–U8
🕠 5:30 – 6:30pm | U9–U11
🕡 6:30 – 7:30pm | U12+

⚽️ 9 Sessions focused on:
• Technical development
• Ball mastery & confidence
• Game awareness & decision making
• High intensity, fun learning environment

For those who don’t quite understand the magnitude of this — watch the first video and listen closely 👨🏼‍🎓

He’s been a big part of my life for a long time — as family, a mentor, a coach, and a very good friend. Watching him do what he’s doing right now is something special.

Ryan is not only excelling on the pitch, but absolutely dominating in the classroom. Holding a 4.0 GPA — the highest level you can achieve in college — and consistently earning honours recognition is no easy feat.

On the football side, he’s competing in USL2 while also playing college football at Mercyhurst, and stepping up as part of the leadership group within the squad.

Couldn’t be prouder of the way he’s carrying himself and the standards he’s setting.

The future is bright — whether that’s on the football pitch or in the professional world.

🛡️ SHIRE SHIELD – April School Holiday Tournament

The Shire Shield is a new football tournament in the Sutherland Shire designed to give local players extra games, competition, and development opportunities.

Hosted at 5Sports in Caringbah, the event brings together academy teams, friendship squads, and community teams for a high-energy school holiday competition.

This is also your chance to put your own squad together and build your own team structure — whether that’s with teammates, school friends, or players from different clubs.

Prodigy FC’s first ever coach. ❤️⚽️

Ryan has been part of Prodigy since 13 years old — rising from lower NPL football all the way to Men’s First Grade with Wollongong Wolves. Every time he’s back home, he gives his time to coach, and he’s become a genuine role model and favourite among so many of our players.

Ryan backed himself and took the leap to the US on an athletic scholarship with Mercyhurst University (Erie), competing in NCAA Division I soccer.

After a strong first collegiate season, he went on to play NPSL summer football with Erie Commodores. In his second year, he had another standout campaign with West Texas NPSL — collecting silverware across both summers and maintaining elite standards off the pitch with a 4.0 GPA and academic honours.

Now heading into his third season, Ryan has signed again with West Texas, who will compete in USL2 this summer.

We couldn’t be prouder of the player, the student, and the man he’s becoming.

Keep flying the flag high, brother. The best is yet to come. 💙

⭐️ PLAYER SPOTLIGHT | Rory Parkes ⭐️

Everyone’s pathway is different.

Rory and Coach Mickey first met almost 7 years ago when Rory was just 7 years old. From Lilli Pilli to SSFA’s football program, through hard work, resilience, and commitment, Rory earned his opportunity with Sutherland Sharks and continued to grow year after year.

In 2025, Rory travelled to the USA and trialled with Chicago Fire, where he was offered a position within their setup — a huge milestone on his journey toward professional football within the MLS pathway 🇺🇸⚽️

For now, the focus remains on continued development here in Australia, checking in each year and building the foundations before making the move overseas when the time is right.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT 🌟⚽️

Laura Pilgrim 💙

Laura has been part of the Prodigy FC family for over 8 years, not only as a player but also as a coach who continues to give back to the next generation.

Coach Mickey first met Laura as an 11-year-old at an early 6am session at Kareela Synthetic—back when Prodigy FC was just getting started. She was actually Prodigy FC’s very first female player, at a time when we had far fewer footballs and barely enough gear for one coach. Humble beginnings, big dreams.

Like every footballer, Laura’s journey has had highs and lows. An injury that ruled her out for 18 months tested her in ways many never experience. What stood out most was her attitude, resilience, and determination during that period. Those qualities carried her through to the highs—playing as part of the Liverpool Feds First Grade Squad (3rd Division, UK) 🇬🇧⚽️

This wasn’t luck. This was self-belief, ambition, and a relentless hunger to play the game she loves at the highest level possible.

For young athletes—especially young female footballers—Laura is living proof that if you want something bad enough, do the right things, and stay the course, football really can take you around the world 🌍
