Life is cyclical, itâs just like the seasons.
There will be times of growth, expansion & everything feeling smooth sailing.
There will be periods of rest, destruction & the feelings of everything falling apart.
Hereâs what the seasons have taught me:
We need to stop fearing the winter, the lulls, the metaphorical s**t hitting the fan, because in truth, we need it.
Every big & great level up in my life was preceded by a time of utter discomfort, of feeling like everything was over for me (dramatic, I know).
But Iâve learned that just like the trees lose their leaves, we also need to experience periods of loss & hibernation to make way for the new growth coming our way.
Sometimes itâs these moments of feeling so fu***ng uncomfortable that finally forces us to take action.
Sometimes itâs losing the things we didnât want to lose, only to be gifted with something better we didnât even know to wish for.
The reality is, no matter how bad it might feel, youâve survived every situation life has thrown you so far. And if you stop to look at the details youâll probably realise that rock bottom taught you things the mountain tops never could.
Next time it feels like itâs all over for you, remember this. Instead of distracting, sit with the discomfort. What is this time asking of you? What do you need to let go of? Who do you need to become to move into the next version of you? If youâre quiet enough youâll hear the answers. If youâre brave enough youâll listen.
You will survive the fall & in the process youâll realise that you can fly.
