✨ Young Community Hero Spotlight ✨

Huge congratulations to Declan Davidson, the 2026 Golden Plains Shire Council Young Community Hero of the Year 👏

Declan has been a proud member of the Golden Plains Youth Council for the past two years and currently represents the committee as Youth Mayor. He’s a Wreck Leader for the Victorian Youth Parliament, supports the Food Relief Working Board, and volunteers his time as a tutor with the Regional Education Support Network

Declan has also been part of the Y Geelong and Golden Plains Youth Parliament teams for two years, was recently selected to the Victorian Youth Parliament Taskforce for 2026, and has just joined WHYNOT as a cadet — an innovative YMCA publishing platform empowering young voices and paying them for their work 🙌

An absolute powerhouse of leadership, service, and passion for community.
So proud. So inspiring. 💛
