We know that every person who comes to us has something different that has been standing in their way of getting their health and fitness back on track. Our approach is always to meet that person where they are and help them solve those problems first. Sometimes its simple, sometimes it requires working with other allied health professionals.
Together we work through it and together we lay solid foundations to build sustainable health and fitness programs our clients can acheive and thrive on.

As we age hormones change which changes meny things within our bodies.
Bone Density drops
Sleeping Patterns change, often sleep is more difficult
Ability to regulate body temperature decreses
Pain tolerance levels drop.

What was less important then sometimes becomes more important now.
Appling tension to muscles correctly - good form and progressive overload becomes very imporant for optimal maintanace of bone density.
Learning to control your body in space to be able to excecute everyday movement patterns optimally.
Learning to listen to your body knowing when to go and when to stop can be the maker or the breaker of acheiving sustainable health and fitness.

Fast Food Friday - Prepare this in 40 minutes
Roasted Root Veg Salad with Feta
Serves 4

2 Medium Carrots - Peeled
1/4 cup (30g) Pumpkin seeds
2 Medium Parsnips - Peeled
450g Pumpkin - Peeled
2 tbsp. Olive Oil
120g Rocket
50g Feta

Pre heat oven to 200C

Wash and peel the carrots and parsnips. Cut them into small strips. Peel and cube the Pumpkin.

Place all the vegetables into a roasting tray and grease evenly with 1 tbsp. of olive oil. Season with salt and pepper and roast in the oven for 20-30 mins (depending on the thinkness of the vegetables).

Once cooked add the roasted vegetables and rocket to a large bowl and drizzle with the remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil.

Sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese and pumpkin seeds, and season with salt and pepper to serve.

Protein Boost Tip: Server with grilled chicken breast or thighs

Fast Food Friday - Prepare this in 20 minutes
Chicken, Orange and Walnut Salad
Serves 2

Dressing:
2 tbsp. Orange Juice
3 tbsp. of Honey
2 tbsp. Mustard
1 tbsp. Olive Oil
1 tbsp. Lemon Juice
1/3 tsp. Cinnamon

Salad:
1 Orange
200g Chicken Breast
4 handfuls of Rocket
1/4 Iceburg Lettuce
1/3 Pomegranate fruit seeds
1/4 cup (30g) pecans, roasted

Peel orange and cut out the pulp then set aside. Squeeze the juice from the rest of the orange and keep it for the sauce.

Mix the ingredients of the dressing in a cup, season with salt and pepper.

Cut the chicken breast into 4 smaller pieces, season with salt. Coat with olive oil and place on a got grill pan - grill for 4 minutes on both sides.

Drizzle the chicken pieces with a tbsp. of dressing and continue to grill for about 1.5 minutes on a slightly lower heat, turn over. Drizzle with another tbsp of dressing and grill for another minute. then remove from the pan and set aside. Once cooled slightly slice into pieces.

Mix the salad leaves and divide it between two plates, then top with the orange and chicken, Sprinkle with the pomegranate seeds and roasted pecans. Drizzle with the remaining dressing and serve.

I am so excited to be welcoming Liam Harrison to the Burnfit team. Liam is here to develop aspiring young athletes and help them be their best.
Liam umpires state league basketball and was playing at domestic level before an ankle reconstruction. His goal now is to get back to playing but also to umpire at a national level. Liam’s journey through rehab has inspired him to become an exercise professional with a real drive to not just help fit young athletes but importantly help those facing the hurdles of rehab.

Hi, my name is Liam Harrison. I am an exercise professional in Bannockburn VIC and I have just joined Burnfit 247.
I have always been involved in sport in one way or another. I understand the want to be the best, fastest or most powerful on the team, whether that is on or off the field, or just being the best athlete you can.
I had dreams of having a career in Basketball but that all came to a halt in 2020 when I was injured and needed an Ankle reconstruction.
Once I got the all clear from my surgeon I knew I had to start strengthening all the muscles in my legs again, but didnt know what I could and couldn't do or where to start, the task seemed really daunting. I was determined to get back out into the world and continue on with my Basketball Career but I could barely run. I started to become a bit miserable about the whole situation. It was when I found my strength and conditioning coach who helped me map out my rehab and kept me accountable that I began to see that it was possible.
This experience is what inspired me to become a strength and conditioning coach. I am here to not only help aspiring young athletes achieve their dreams, but also help them get back and be better than ever after an injury.
Whether you are just beginning your pursuit of an athletic career or rebuilding after injury I can help you be the best, fastest or most powerful on the team.
