Good morning Far North Coast Bowlers the Corona Virus is certainly having a impact on our sport - what with clubs closed and social separation in place we are unable to meet and play, as bowlers we can do our bit to hasten the outcome by playing to the new rules as set down by our Government.

Cabarita Beach Bowling Clubs David Sheather the recipient of the 2019 Rookies Encouragement Award.
David’s strong performance at the finals was rewarded with his being the recipient of the Rookies Encouragement Award. David lost his first game by 2 shots but won the other two by 5 and 2 shots respectively to be placed second in his section games. He just missed out on the semis by a whisker.

Zone one Rookies Pairs Qualifiers played at Cherry Street yesterday Grafton District Services’ Paul Sutton and Gary Ahrens have secured a berth in the State Rookies finals to be conducted in November following their win at the Qualifiers today, Sunday 27 October, at the Post Sectional play conducted at Ballina. Alstonville’s John Dee and Glen Hunter came in Second, Cabarita Beach’s Gordon Watterson and Scott Duncan were placed third and Wooli’s Stan P***k and Kevin Blanch were placed fourth.

Bowls NSW Rookies Pairs for Zone 1 commence this coming Saturday 26th with sectional play being held at both Cabarita Beach Bowling Club and Ballina Bowling Club. players from across the Zone will be vying for a trip to the sate finals - Knockout rounds and the final will be conducted at Ballina's Cherry Street Club Sunday 27th - Best of bowls to all entrants.

Rookies State Qualifier Zone 1 David Sheather.
Congratulations to Cabarita Beach’s David Sheather, this year’s winner of the Zone One Rookies Singles Qualifiers following a tough Final encounter against Ballina’s Michael Fallows. David will now go forward to the State Finals to be conducted at Raymond Terrace Sunday 24 November. Best wishes for continued success at State level, David.

Well Done Peter Taylor runner up in the Bowls NSW Champion of Club Champions Singles - its been a very successful week for Peter winning the Champion of Club Champion pairs with Rodney McCabe and collecting the runners up today at South Tamworth Bowls. Playing Corey Wedlock from Warilla peter went down after 31 ends 31 to 18 there was some top line bowling by both players to complete a great week of Championships at Tamworth

Congratulation Rodney McCabe & Peter Taylor Alstonville Bowling Club on taking out the 2019 NSW Champion of Club Champions Pairs Title yesterday at South Tamworth Bowls Club 19 shot to 14 after a hard fought battle - Bravo Boys
