We are so proud of the progress that our student, Zane has made over the past 5 weeks! Zane was born with Motor Apraxia, which means that certain motor skills and movement patterns are difficult.

We have been working on throwing, catching, dribbling, jumping, side shuffling, and balancing.

We are so happy to see Zane grow in confidence, which helps him in his weekly P.E classes and basketball games.

Well done Zane, keep up the good work! 💪⚽️ 🏀🏃‍♂️

A brilliant article written by Craig O’Shannessy from Brain Game Tennis!
The average rally length in the AO2022 for men and women is less than 3 shots. Who would have thought?

Based on this data, this should change the way we train on and off court.

As a performance coach, strength and power based training is crucial and is a critical physical attribute that players must consolidate to be able to finish the points within 4 shots!

This means short reps (1-6) with higher intensity (load). We need to train the way we want to play, therefore training methods such as slow endurance running, swimming and cycling is pointless as it doesn’t match these demands.

The aim is to implement training modalities that match or exceed the demands of a match, and that is from what the data is telling us!
