As a performance coach, strength and power based training is crucial and is a critical physical attribute that players must consolidate to be able to finish the points within 4 shots!
This means short reps (1-6) with higher intensity (load). We need to train the way we want to play, therefore training methods such as slow endurance running, swimming and cycling is pointless as it doesn’t match these demands.
The aim is to implement training modalities that match or exceed the demands of a match, and that is from what the data is telling us!
