Our Byron Bay Branch is officially opened! A very exciting day for us to start offering our sessions in Byron Bay. Watch this space. We can’t wait to get more people in the ocean and offer more access to the adaptive surfing space.

8 years ago I thought I could just walk down to the local beach in Byron and start OT surf sessions… I had no idea about Permits or any thing of the like.
It’s been a journey and all been perfect, but I tell you what, a bitter sweet day to be able to take people surfing the in the pristine waves at Byron, with the ocean access more user friendly for people we support.
Thanks for everyone who has been on the journey with us, and I’d love to acknowledge all the people who are always in our corner, supporting what we do!

🌊Exciting news and updates!!! 🌊

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since we have posted on here and in that time, we have had so many exciting changes…. It’s time we shared a bit of what we have been up too!

👱🏼‍♀️Let’s welcome Lani onto our team- Lani is an OT from the UK and an absolute delight to be around! She is joining our Ballina team….

🚗 As we have Megs moving across to WA to set up our Albany Branch. Megs has just driven across the Nullabor with her Dad and has arrived safely in Albany to start sessions there! A huge acknowledgment to Megs for her go getter attitude!

🏕️We have also recently done our first “Leader’s Camp” for our teens - an overnight camp for our surfers who will be attending our Family camp in Summer. It was such a fantastic experience to be with these surfers I have known since the very beginning who are stepping up into more responsibility at Ability Surf to be Leaders to our younger clients.

👱🏼‍♀️We have Mads managing our Sunshine Coast branch…. So that’s Ability Surf in 3 states!!! We now have a team of 9: Emma, Matty, Megs, Tara, Matt, Maddie, Johnny, Lani, Grace 💕

🏄🏾‍♀️ And finally, we just got approved for a Byron Bay/Brunswick Licence to run our sessions - this means we will be able to support access to more people along the east coast, as well as be more involved in the adaptive surfing space. We are super excited about that, as it’s about 7 years in the making!

⛺️ 👫We have our East Coast Summer Family Camp Jan 2026 coming up, if your interested book in for some initial sessions so we can get you involved prior to the camp.
