A big congratulations to , Will Card, Toby Pearse and MJ Mauava, who took the field yesterday in the Barossa Valley as part of the Victorian Country side.

Joining players from Geelong, Shepparton and Bendigo, the boys had a fantastic opportunity to test themselves against strong opposition and gain valuable experience at a high level of rugby.

While the scoreboard may not have been what they wanted, we are incredibly proud of the way they represented themselves, their teammates and our club throughout the day.

Well done boys – a great achievement and an experience that will no doubt help you continue to grow both on and off the field.
Congratulations, boys! We're proud to have you as part of the Highlanders family.

Travel with us to Shepparton!

Shepparton.

While the result didn't go our way yesterday, the day was a fantastic opportunity for our club to come together, strengthen connections, and continue building our culture. Days like these are about more than just the scoreboard—they're about creating memories, supporting each other, and growing as a club.

Thank you to everyone who made the trip and represented the Highlanders with pride. 🖤🤍♥️

Round 7 Teamlist - off to the Rodeo in Shepparton

The lads are jumping on the vans for the road trip of the season to try and ride the undefeated Bulls to victory on Saturday, with 463 caps in the starting side ans 323 on the bench, showing a good mix of youth and experience, as Ballarat look to extend their seasons Win/Loss to 5-2 and get back to second on the Country Ladder. Highlighted by a 7-1 split on the bench, the Highlanders are ready for a physical outing against the Moronae Silaga coached Bulls.

Another day, another volunteer in the spotlight! 😉💡

Theres nothing like exposing behind the scenes heroes, and Kaelyn Leighton fits that description to a tee.

Kaelyn is a driving force in our comittee, leading our merchandise design, Canterbury Shop, Website, Events Co-Ordinator, Bar/Canteen Manager, Social Media guru, photographer and so, so much more. She rounds it out by being an amazing human, always with a wonderful smile, great vibes and someone who contributes as much with personality and presence as with sheer work volume!

So please when you see Kaelyn at our home games, make sure you give her your most dazzling smile, and do your bit to make her day brighter!
Kaelyn is a proud mum of two beautiful children, so make sure your gratitude extends to Kenz and Coop as well! The little tykes are a huge part of our club too, and without their love of being around, driven by the support of the club by their wonderful mum, she wouldnt be able to do all she does.

So from all of our club - Kaelyn, tha k you!

This week is National Volunteer Week, we want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate the incredible people who give their time, energy and passion to our club. Volunteers are the heart of community sport, and without them, none of this would be possible including player, familys and friends who help keep our club running smoothly. 💙

We would particularly like to highlight two of our wondering volunteers:

👏 Clint Smith – our dedicated Treasurer, Coach and player. Clint is a all-rounder beiside being heavily involved in our club he is also a proud dad of two, including a beautiful new little arrival just 3 weeks old! Despite juggling family life and a newborn, Clint continues to give so much to our club and community. We’d also like to recognise his wife Eve, who plays a huge role behind the scenes. The support she gives Clint is a big reason he has the opportunity to dedicate his time to volunteering, and that support does not go unnoticed.

👏 Peter Leighton – our President, player and stand-in Coach over the last few weeks while Clint enjoys precious time with his newest addition. Pete is also a proud dad of two and is someone who is always willing to put his hand up whenever the club needs him. His passion for the club and commitment to helping create a strong environment for players, families and the wider club community shines through in everything he does.

Both Clint and Pete have been part of our club for many years now and have given countless hours helping it grow and succeed. Nothing is ever too hard for these guys — whether it’s helping behind the scenes, stepping up on game day, taking on extra roles, or doing the jobs that often go unnoticed.
Their commitment, passion and willingness to always put their hand up for the club does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do.
Please join us in saying thank you to all our volunteers this National Volunteer Week — we appreciate everything you do!
