You know that when you go to get an X-Ray the Radiographer isn’t the person who is going to give you the results. That’s definitely out of their scope of practice. And we accept that even though they may be able to shed some light on our condition, it’s inappropriate to ask because they can’t tell us anyway.
Same with PT, I’m not the gal who should write you a meal plan, advise which medications you should or shouldn’t be taking, diagnose movement dysfunction, treat an injury, offer advise on treating eating disorders or offer counselling for mental health. These are all things to refer out for. Because I’m not qualified, or insured to do so.
I am qualified to program and run safe and effective exercise sessions. And practicing ethically means sticking within my scope of practice.
What I’m also not qualified to do is pretend I’m an insensitive radiographer running a dodgy set up in my bathroom. Sorry Radiographers, I know you ain’t like this IRL 🫶🏻
