Vic Country Warriors squads have delivered outstanding results at the recent Football Victoria State Futsal Championships, further establishing ourselves as one of Victoria’s leading futsal development programs.

At the 2026 Football Victoria State Futsal Championships:
🏆 8 Boys – Champions (Undefeated)
🥈 9 Boys – Runners Up
🏆 10 Boys – Champions (Undefeated)
👏 10 Girls – Semi Finalists (playing up in 11s)
👏 12 Boys – Semi Finalists (combined 11 & 12 team)
💪 17 Boys – Competitive in U21s (playing 4 years up)

An incredible achievement with all teams in their own age groups finishing either Champions or Runners Up 👏

Futsal Stars to Emerging Socceroos‼️

We’re incredibly proud to see the following Vic Country Warriors players selected in the U15 Victorian squads for the 2026 Emerging Socceroos Championships:
• Andy Grgurevic
• Emilio Alvarado
• Joe Colak
• Liam O'Keefe

These boys have been part of our academy for a combined 15+ years and have represented the club at regional, state, and national tournaments, including our first Gold Coast International team that brought home a bronze medal.

They have also represented Victoria at the National Futsal Championships, already playing at this level in futsal, which has further enhanced their development in football.

They are now showing the next crop of kids exactly what is possible through these pathways. The skills, technique, and game understanding they’ve developed in futsal are helping them succeed in both futsal and football.

We are extremely proud of their achievements, and they should be just as proud of the way they are now role modelling and showcasing the pathway for the next generation.

⚽️🏆WARRIORS TAKE ON GCI 🏆⚽️

A quick throwback to the GCI tournament held back in January!

We’ve been receiving some fantastic photos from all the teams who competed at the Gold Coast International. It was incredible to see all 8 teams out there showcasing their skills and representing so proudly.

This was a huge achievement for everyone involved, and we want to give a massive shoutout to all the players, parents, coaches and supporters for their outstanding effort and commitment. What an experience!

🤩🏆 GCI FINALS RESULTS 🏆🤩

A fantastic day of Finals futsal for the club.

⚽️ 8 BOYS ⚽️

We started the day on a high with the 8’s boys winning bronze in an entertaining playoff game against Carina Futsal. The boys lost there group game 5-3 to this team so knew they had to bring their best to take out bronze. We had the best of play in first 10 minutes, forcing multiple saves from the Carina keeper. Carina then scored against the run of play to take a 1 nil lead. The boys didn’t drop their heads and fought on bravely scoring an equaliser just before the end of the half to go into the break at 1-1. We dominated for large parts of the second half piling on 2 unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead. Carina then scored late in the half to set up a thrilling finish. We scored our 4th goal with about 4 mins to go to take a 4-2 lead. Carina then responded with a late goal to bring it back to 4-3 and the boys stood strong for the last 2 minutes to take out a much deserved win and Bronze medal 🥉

⚽️ 9 GIRLS ⚽️

Congrats to the 9 Girl’s taking out a silver medal 🥈 against Fenix.

The girls were awesome and played their hearts out not only holding the favourites but pushing them all the way. In an even first half Feenix scored first but the girls stuck to the task and evened the score at 1 all after 10 minutes. The girls continued to battle hard restricting Feenix opportunities and the 3 - 1 half time score reflected just how well the girls were playing. Feenix scored early in the second half but again the girls dig deep keeping up with them and scoring second to go 4-2, 8 minutes into the second half. The resistance was finally broken late in the game with Feenix scoring a few late goals to run out the win game 12-2. It is worth reflecting that the girls were beaten in the round games by the same team 22-0 and 17-1. A huge improvement for our girls and the game was a lot closer than the final score suggests. Well done to our little Warriors!

⚽️ 16 BOYS ⚽️

After giving it all in their semi-final loss, the 16 boys returned all bandaged up for their bronze medal play-off against a well-organised Cockburn Wolves.

Despite a slow start, the boys played their way into the game.

Throughout the match, the boys demonstrated tenacity to compete for every battle and, showing individual flair, eventually ran out of legs.

The team developed over the week to display some tactical nous and didn’t allow the Wolves the time and space behind that they were looking for. A deficit of two goals at half-time didn’t deter the team as they were on the front foot and dictating play for the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Our young men fought hard in the six matches over the week and will use this as valuable experience in their quest to the next competition.

🤩🏆 WARRIORS INTO THE FINALS 🏆🤩

So proud of our VIC Country Warriors up here playing in the Gold Coast International 🏆💪

We brought 8 teams to this futsal tournament and an incredible 5 teams have powered through to finals — 3 in the quarter finals and 2 straight into the semi finals. A massive achievement and a true reflection of the hard work, grit, and team spirit across the squad.

Best of luck to all our teams heading into finals — play hard, back each other, and enjoy the moment. Let’s go Warriors! 🔥⚽️

⚽️🤩 GCI UPDATES - 2014 BOYS ⚽️🤩

FORM GUIDE: W L L L L
LADDER POSITION: 5th

The boys had a good win to start of the tournament against Predators FC from Brisbane. The boys played some good Futsal with team cohesion looking very good with the boys having some really good ball playing moments. Some clear areas of improvement looking to tighten up in the future days with the boys improving on covering defensively and communication. Final score 6-3 win.

Round 2 the boys played a well drilled physically larger team being Soccer de Brazil the boys really took the fight to the opposition. Showing some really good passages of play unfortunate to not have scored more goals. Team chemistry is looking really good with players improving from yesterday with major improvements to communication and covering defensively. Final result 0-4.

Next, the boys played Sydney Futsal Academy. They boys started the game off strong scoring the first goal. 15 minutes into the game the boys found themselves down 1-4 the players were relentless with their shooting opportunities and were extremely unlucky not to have scored a few goals to equalise. In a really physical game the boys once again showed their determination fighting through injury and a few hard knocks but came away with a loss.

⚽️💪 GCI UPDATES - 2018 BOYS 💪⚽️

Our 7’s boys enter the tournament having been selected to play a year up in this tournament. Round 1 saw them play Southport Warriors from Queensland. Players have had a clear focus on development in particular defending 1 on 1. Shaking off the first game jitters against a strong 8’s team the boys came away with a loss.

Day 2 the boys played a quality Fenix team. The boys had noticeable improvements in focus areas from yesterdays game. Playing a quality team showed the players grit and a big improvement in all aspects from yesterday. In the end playing an older physically larger team proved quite a challenge however, the final score did not reflect the boys efforts with notacible improvements in defending 1 on 1.

Day 3 saw the boys play Storm Futsal from Queensland. A major focus for today’s game was to improve on yesterday’s defensive efforts this was an overall success as the boys managed to keep Storm goalless for the entire game. Team cohesion also looked very good with the team playing multiple passing combinations and looking really strong in attack.
Final score a convincing 5-0 win against an older team.

This wraps up the tournament for our youngest Warriors, we couldn’t be more impressed with their determination and effort throughout the entire tournament and we can’t wait to continue their development for next years GCI 💪🤩

⚽️🤩 GCI UPDATES - 2013 BOYS ⚽️🤩

LADDER POSITION: 5th

Day one the boys turned up ready and raring to go. A great start to the game against a local team, River City Futsal, we took a comfortable 2 goal lead at half time. The boys kept the momentum going in the second half and increased the lead to 3-0 but River City responded with a goal shortly after. The boys kept pushing but conceded again 3-2 with 10 minutes to play. Exchanges from both teams and some great saves from both keepers but River City were able to equalise with a long range effort tying up the game 3-3. Overall a good first hit out for the boys in their first big tournament together as a team representing Vic Country Warriors.

Day two the boys were excited to build on yesterday’s performance. Pre-game we went over strategic positioning and improvements for general gameplay. Our opposition, Sunshine Coast Waves challenged the boys and pressured the defence from the get go. SCW took the lead with 2 goals but we pressed hard and got one back. Another goal from SCW and again the boys responded well showing grit and determination fighting hard to match a well-drilled futsal team. 3-2 after 10 minutes. Unfortunately SCW were able to break away and although the boys had some good glimpses of play in the second half, the final score ended up 12-3.

The boys have one final regular round tomorrow, coming up against Ipswich Futsal Club ⚽️💪
