Onkaparinga Netball Club The Onkaparinga Netball Club was founded in 1947 and based in Balhannah, Adelaide Hills. from NetSetGo to A1 as part of the Mid Hills Netball Association.

we are a proud community-focused club that offers netball opportunites for all ages & skill levels. Onkaparinga Netball Club Inc was founded in 1947. Our clubrooms and trainings are based at Balhannah Courts. We have over 150 members within our club. From U9's all the way to League. Inters 4

We knew this game was going to be a fight coming up against Mt Barker Lutheran, currently sitting second on the ladder, and it definitely delivered! We went into halftime down by three, but no one dropped their heads. We came out in the second half with renewed energy. Lifting our defence, moving the ball better, and staying composed under pressure.

A gritty team effort saw us fight back to finish with a well-earned 36-36 draw.

So proud of the resilience and determination across the whole court.

A2 51 defeated Woodside 34

What a fantastic team performance from our A2 girls, coming away with a convincing 51–34 win over Woodside! 🤎💛💙

We got off to a flying start with Zoe C and Emily working tirelessly in the goal circle. Their movement, ability to read the play and outstanding shooting accuracy gave us the perfect start, helping us take a seven-goal lead into the first break.

Woodside came out firing in the second quarter, but a quick defensive change saw Jas return to GK and Zoe B move into GD. The combination immediately settled our defence, shutting down Woodside’s attack and allowing us to regain control. By half time, we’d extended our lead to 10 goals.

The third quarter was a real arm wrestle, with momentum swinging both ways and a few interruptions for some bumps and bandaging along the way! Despite the physical contest, the girls stayed composed and maintained their 10-goal advantage heading into the final break.

After resetting and setting ourselves a clear goal for the last quarter, the girls responded brilliantly. Amy-Lee, Eliza and Tayla were relentless in chasing down every loose ball, creating turnover opportunities and delivering accurate feeds into the goal circle. It was also a huge final quarter from Aliyah, who was outstanding in GK in her last game before heading overseas. The team rallied together to finish strongly, surpassing our final-quarter goal and securing a terrific 17-goal victory.

A huge thank you to Zoe B for once again stepping up to help the team. Your willingness to do whatever is needed has been invaluable.

We’d also like to wish Aliyah all the very best on her overseas adventure. We’ll miss having you out on court over the coming weeks and can’t wait to welcome you back in Onkas colours again next season!

Around the Courts ~ Round 11
Round 11 brought us a bit of everything, some thrilling draws, an exciting showdown in our Under 11s, plenty of close games, and some hard-fought matches across the courts.
A huge thank you to all of our volunteers who stepped up for Umpire of Duty. Behind the scenes, there’s a dedicated group working hard each week to ensure our girls can take the court by providing umpires for every game.
We’re incredibly grateful to these young umpires who give their time each week, learning, growing, and doing their very best.
Next time you’re at the courts, take a moment to thank them, without their commitment, our teams simply wouldn’t be able to play each week.

Player of the Day: Florence Crathern

Our Player of the Day, Florence, played one of her best games this morning. As well as going into any position that I needed her in, Florence played an amazing game of shooter, managing to shoot all but one of our 7 total goals today. Well done Florence!

This team should be very proud of themselves this morning. It was incredible to see them applying some of the things which we had learned in training, into a game setting, such as the goalies using the WA and C on the circle.

Although it was a rainy game, once again, they all ran hard for the ball and lead down the court incredibly well!! Additionally, our defensive players were staying with their players so well, resulting in many intercepts and turnovers. We are continuing to work on spreading out down the court, but this is gradually improving every week.

Onkas Gold 6 def Onkas Brown 1

Wow… what an exciting game between the two Onkas teams this morning.
Both teams came out firing from the start.
The defensive pressure from both teams was outstanding. Every player defended hard and many turnovers took place on the court.
The goalies from both sides had to work extremely hard to score, but Onkas Gold were more accurate with their shots to take out the win.
Our 11s have improved greatly since the beginning of the season and we could not be more proud of their achievements.
Well done everyone!!

Nairne 16 def Onkas 11
Unfortunately, we were missing two of our main goalies this morning and we had some of our girls play in different positions against a very tall Nairne team.
Our first quarter saw our girls play some great netball, leading in front and our passes were quick and flowing with ease.
We had a three goal lead at the quarter time break.
Nairne made a couple of changes putting a lot of pressure on each of our girls, but we managed to hold onto a one goal lead.
We made some changes at half time, but with a heavy ball and making mistakes, Nairne took control to lead by two goals.
With our girls trying hard in the fourth, and energy levels fading, Nairne took control to take out a five goal victory.
Although it wasn’t our game today, I am very proud of all the girls on showing determination and playing their best game on the day.
A huge thank you to Tilly Traeger for playing her second game with us in goals. Her efforts playing against some very tall opponents was appreciated by all.

Paige played in goals and also in C. Her height did not deter her against some very tall opponents. She intercepted many balls, made great leads and shot some great goals.

Congratulations to our Players of the Week Tilly & Emery

Tilly had a fantastic game this week. She was moving well around the court, chasing the ball and getting herself into great space to receive a pass. As soon as the other team won possession, she quickly switched into defence, putting pressure on her player and never giving up on the contest. Her effort was outstanding. Well done, Tilly!

Emery is one of those players you can always rely on to deliver a great performance every single week. She had another brilliant game in GA nailing majority of her shots. Emery is always working hard to get into the right position, offering a strong option for her teammates and helping move the ball smoothly along the court. Another fantastic game Emery. Well done!
