Under 12 Div 2 Gold

Preliminary Final vs Echunga

Coming off a great win the week before in our semi final, our girls were fired up and ready to turn around a 1 goal loss a few weeks earlier to Echunga.

We were made to work very hard for all possessions by a determined opposition, and after we converted a couple of early goals attempts we struggled to string together many passes in a row or contain the opposition shooters.

After a tight first quarter we just couldn’t keep up against a very tall and skilful side. Final scores were them - lots, us - not many.

It has been an absolute pleasure to coach this group of girls, who showed terrific determination each week and they should be very proud of themselves for improving so much throughout the season and playing great team netball.

Play of the day - Skyler returning to the side in the last quarter after 8 weeks off with broken wrist to shoot a long range goal one handed !

Preliminary Final

Wow! What a win today against the second to top team, Littlehampton.
The first quarter was evenly contested with both teams fighting hard for every pass. Our goalies, Eden and Agatha were on fire shooting with confidence and accuracy.
Our defenders, Sofia and Chloe were hot on the heels of Littlehampton’s goalies putting the pressure on every shot.
Millie played her best game working so hard in the mid court area. Paige, Mackenzie and Willow supported each other bringing the ball down towards our goal end. We were two goals up at the quarter time break.
The second quarter was much the same. Both teams were fighting very hard for the whole quarter with Onkas leading by one goal at half time.
The third quarter was not our best. Tiredness started to creep in and mistakes were made across the court.
We were three goals down.
With a big pep talk and some changes, our girls were ignited to push themselves to their limit to play an awesome last quarter. Balls were being intercepted, our passing improved and goals were being scored.
At the final whistle, we took out the win by four goals.
It was a wonderful effort by all the team today.
Being the underdogs, bring on next week! We are ready to play Lobethal in the GF!
