The last full competition round for the year today, as the next couple of weeks are ambrose events. A big thankyou to Quinnie for sponsoring today and a special thankyou for his support over the years as Quins Gourmet Butchers, now known as Recommended Meats.

The dry weather lately was noticed today as the greens where dry and slow. There was still a great display on putting though from Bert and later in the round Derick, but the day went to Jeremy Parker who came in with winning score of 42 points.

Next week is a 2 person ambrose put on by Paul Clune and Peter Clements for the end of the season.
Grand final day will probably see no golf, but we have the Heart Foundation fundraiser on the 3rd of October for the last fixtured event of the year.

Results for the 2026 Bakers Hill Open Day.
Thankyou to all those who attended today, including those traveling from as far as Bunbury and Leinster.

Gross winner was Chris Harris, with a 66 of the stick, 40 points to equal the club record.
Gross Runner up. Rod Anderson 39 points.
Net Winner, Haige Wright 42 points
Net Runner up, Glen Millar 40 points
Net Third, Aaron Boston, 39 points.
Best unplaced visitor, Andrew Quin, 36 points.
Best unplaced local, Gary Hyland, 32 points.

On the 16th of August a group from Bakers Hill traveled to Tooday for their open day. Due to a clerical error on the day, the wrong player was anounced as the winner. It was corrected later that week and today Jeremy Parker was presented with the trophy as winner of the Le Steere Cup for 2026.

A big thankyou to the Toovey family for today's sponsorship. A last minute decision by Peter turned today into a stroke event, much to the dismay of some of the competitors, but overall there was a reasonably good display of golf.

Net Winner on 69 was Bert Giorgi with Andrew Valli close by on a 70. A surprised Haigh Wright took 3rd place on countback with 72.
We also had a gross prize taken home by Chris Harris, with Peter Toovey being runner up.

Next week is our Open Day, 10am registration for a 11am shotgun start.

Second round of the club championships, and the result is eerily similar to the first withTrevor Turner winning on 70 net and Mick Press defeating Jeremy Parker to second on countback with 75 net. Jeremy was again best with the putter with 25 puts, and Derick claimed the nearesr the pin on 9/18 and longest put on 2/11.
