Round 2 of the RallySafe Tasmanian Rally Championship is heading to Southern Tasmanian for the Harcourts Houn Valley Stormhill Sprint on July 4th.

This is a much welcome return of the championship to the south of the state, having last been host to an event in 2019 for the Southern Safari Rally.

Thanks to 500 Car Club of Tasmania for hosting this round of the championship.

2026 Bakers Beach Blast Outright Winners!🏆

On Saturday the 2026 Rallysafe Tasmanian Rally Championship got underway with the Bakers Beach Blast in the states north which was a rally that consisted of 8 stages, 4 of which ran into the night to add an extra challenge to start off the year.

We started slowly getting back into the swing of things after 6 months off, losing 8 seconds to Aidan Peterson on the first stage which meant we had to get back in to the groove quickly to have any chance of keeping the fight alive. We fought back winning the next 3 stages but it wasn’t enough to close the gap and we ended up finishing in second place in heat 1, just 4 seconds behind Aidan and Mitch.

Heat 2 and the last 4 stages were all run in to the night and this is were we started to get in to a rhythm, winning all 4 stages and taking the heat 2 win by 41 seconds which meant we did enough to win the rally overall by 37 seconds in what was a great battle all day. We are looking forward to many more battles with Aidan and Mitch which is shaping up to be a cracking fight for the rest of the year!

Huge thanks to Brad Jones for stepping in the nav seat again this year, doing a faultless job all day on the notes and keeping us on the straight and narrow, I would also like to thank Jenko, Mike, Lauren, Smithy and Elliot for there help throughout the day as well. 👏🏻
