And that’s a wrap on the Under 16 season! The young Pies have gone back-to-back, claiming their fourth premiership in the past five years with a fantastic Grand Final win.
It all started with Wy Yung winning the toss and electing to bat. Lucknow’s opening bowlers Oakley Hughes and Thinley Namgyel came out firing, conceding just 20 runs from their opening eight overs and putting Wy Yung under early pressure. However, Noah Mathers steadied the innings with a solid knock as Wy Yung fought hard to post 67 runs, setting a defendable target.
Lucknow chased the total with confidence, led by superstar Thinley Namgyel, who produced a brilliant 29 not out to guide the Pies to victory and secure back-to-back premierships.
Player of the Match was awarded to Thinley Namgyel for an outstanding all-round performance, finishing with 29 and 1/12 from 4 overs.
Another fantastic season in the books. Congratulations to Rick Watt and the entire Lucknow team on a tremendous achievement.
