BMLAC congratulates BMLAC Dolphins member, Myah Estlick on her selection into the Athletics Victoria Futures Academy Program.
This development program identifies and supports Victoriaโ€™s promising young athletes aged 15โ€“19 who have demonstrated national level potential. The program focuses on developing high-performance sport literacy, building strong performance habits and behaviours and educating athletes on long term athletic development. Participants also benefit from face-to-face activations, event-specific skill development with Victorian event mentors and athlete education sessions.

We would also like to extend our congratulations to former BMLAC captain, Mackenzie Estlick on her selection into the Australian Athletics Pathway Transition Program for Relays.
This national program supports athletes who have demonstrated the potential to achieve Athletics Australiaโ€™s high-performance goals. Athletes receive access to performance support services, sports science and medicine, wellbeing programs, national camps, planning assistance and a range of development opportunities. The program aims to bridge the gap between successful junior performances and future senior international success, with a focus on Under 20 athletes.

These selections are a wonderful recognition of the hard work, dedication and commitment both athletes have shown throughout their athletics journeys.

Congratulations Myah and Mackenzie. We wish you both every success as you continue to develop and pursue your athletic goals.

On Saturday, Bacchus Marsh Little Athletics Centre proudly hosted our annual Cross Country Open Day at St. Anne's Winery - Myrniong.
Despite the tough conditions, with strong winds sweeping across the course throughout the morning, athletes embraced the challenge with determination and enthusiasm. Thankfully, the rain stayed away, allowing everyone to enjoy a fantastic morning of competition.
The scenic, hilly course provided a true test of endurance for our young athletes. Featuring a mix of challenging climbs, open stretches and fast descents, the course pushed competitors to dig deep and give their best. Many athletes welcomed the challenge, particularly enjoying the downhill sections that offered an opportunity to recover before racing hard towards the finish line.
We were pleased to welcome athletes, with visiting Centres including Ballarat, Buninyong, Camberwell Malvern, Corio, Gisborne, Horsham, Maryborough, Melton City, Werribee and of course our local Bacchus Marsh athletes. Thank you to all the families who travelled to join us. The atmosphere throughout the morning was outstanding, with parents, coaches, officials and spectators providing constant encouragement and support that helped athletes push through the challenging conditions and finish strongly.
Events such as this are only possible thanks to an incredible team of volunteers. A special thank you goes to our amazing Cross Country Coordinators, Dan and Dale, who spent countless hours planning, preparing and delivering a fantastic event. Their dedication behind the scenes ensured the day ran smoothly from start to finish.
We would also like to thank our parking attendants, announcers, starters, finish line officials, call room assistants and recording crews for their efforts.
A huge thank you to the many parents who volunteered as course marshals, as well as our dedicated rabbits and turtles, who guided athletes around the course and provided encouragement along the way. Thank you also to our wonderful BBQ team who kept everyone well-fed, Cruisin' Coffee Co for providing much-appreciated hot drinks, and our first aid officers who were on hand to support athletes and families whenever needed.
Congratulations to every athlete who took part. A special congratulations to our medal winners and we were delighted to present every participant with a certificate in recognition of their participation.
Thank you once again to every athlete, family member, volunteer, official, sponsor and supporter who contributed to our Cross Country Open Day. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Bacchus Marsh again in the future.
