Eathornes Monthly Medal rolls around again. A good field played on Wednesday for a chance to get themselves into the monthly medal final later in the year. Mays winners were A Grade Wendy Baker, B Grade Ann Phelan and C Grade Evelyn Webb. Runners up were A Grade Pat Lawson, B Grade Cecily Lena and C Grade Donna Boccolatte. As 2024 mother’s day approaches, the Ayr Golf Ladies celebrate their long time friend Pauline Lennon. Each year since Pauline’s passing her family have sponsored a Wed competition day in honour of their mum around Mother’s Day.
27 ladies were on the course which was a record for 2024 and we welcomed Pauline’s daughter Jenny to make her presentation to the winners and express to all what golf meant to her Mum. Betty Durrant and Bev Andrews also spoke about what a fantastic member and friend Pauline was and how she was dearly missed.
Some great scores this week. Evelyn Webb joined us on Wednesday and blitzed the field. Hoping to see Evelyn out more Wednesdays after such a successful round. Evelyn scored 38 points ahead of Pat Lawson who found herself back in form with 36 points and Donna Reid came in third with 34 stableford points. Congratulations ladies and thanks very much Jenny for joining us and sponsoring a successful day.

DAWN COX DAY Wed 24th April - longtime member and todays Sponsor Dawn Cox likes to have a partner event each year and to make it even more challenging she makes it a partner VSS format. This year we had a good field of 24 ladies - 12 pairings competing for the title. Turned out one pairing had a possible record score of +9 and blitzed the field. Congratulations Sandra Wight & Karen McIntosh. Coming in 2nd were Kim Many & Kerry Mann who won on a countback over Donna Boccolatte & Mavis Zanetti both groups ending with +6. Many thanks to Dawn for sponsoring such great prizes.

Yesterday (Wed 3/4) was Ayr Friendly Care Foursomes Day and 20 ladies came out to play the event.

Many thanks for the generous donation from Ayr Friendly Care Pharmacy and congratulations to the winners Vicki Adcock and Cecily Lena with a score of 77 CB who narrowly beat Sandra Wight and Janet Trezise on 77, and third was Mavis Zanetti and Joy Cornford with 78.

Great day to get out on the course and get grateful ther e was a bit of a breeze.

Today (Wed 27/3) was Gudjuda Day and today the ladies played a Stableford event.

Many thanks for the generous donation and congratulations to the winners who were Kerry Mann with 32, Cecily Lena with 31, Donna Reid with 27, Patricia Lawson with 27, Katrina Hearn with 26 and Shirley Jones with 25.

After a bit of a wet week the course is still very thick and heavy and it was hot afternoon out there.

A big thank you to all the 15 ladies who came out to support another valued sponsor.

Ladies March Monthly Medal proudly sponsored by Eathornes Intersport saw a record number of ladies participate for 2024. We were also very lucky to have our sponsor of the event Neville Eathorne come along to present the vouchers to our winners in each Grade. Awesome to have our sponsors come along and present their valued contribution to the winners.
A grade winner for the 2nd month running was Janet Trezise and runner up was Loretta Mauro. B Grade winner was Joy Cornford who is hitting top form early this year with a 68 net. B Grade runner up was Ann Phelan. C Grade winner was Lorraine Hendersen with a great stableford score over Mavis Zanetti.
