Come unearth our wine region and the Pyrenees at the Avoca Races in October and March each year.

The Avoca Shire Turf Club (ASTC) opens its gates two days of the year to patrons ready to enjoy the rays of sun, the blue skies, the green grass, the constant laughter and cheering, the outfits, the champagne, the gourmet food and wine and the thrill of watching those amazing thoroughbreds race down the straight. eld in Avoca is one to enter, with great prizes and recognition on offer. Our March races, celebrate Autumn in the Pyrenees and a day of Country racing at its best. Among other events, the Club host may large events on course and in the Pyrenees Function Centre.

That’s a wrap on the FY2025–26 season 🎉

Can you believe its just 199 days to go to the 2026 Avoca Cup, so the countdown is officially ON!

At the heart of every small regional race club is a passionate group of hardworking locals—and ASTC is no exception ❤️

This Sunday’s bet365 Autumn Raceday is 100% volunteer-run. From ticket sellers and bar staff to saddle cloth attendants and the horse gate crew, it’s all made possible by people who give their time for our community.

We’re also proud to be fundraising for Avoca Primary School. Their amazing parents and teachers assist with track patching and we’re so grateful for their support 🙌

A huge thank you as well to Pyrenees Shire for their continued funding and belief in local events like ours—we couldn’t do it without you!

After a big start to 2026 — with fire-affected communities, ongoing drought and continued cost of living pressures — we’re inviting you to take a breath and soak up relaxed country racing at its best.

Join us on Sunday March 29 at the beautiful Avoca Shire Turf Club for a day of laid-back racing, fresh country air and good company.

There’s plenty of lawn space for the kids to run around, room to spread out a picnic rug and the kind of atmosphere that makes country racing special.
