Avenel golf club notes 30.5.26

On the second last day of May for the year we played Stableford from the short courses in overcast conditions with a little bit of a shower towards the end of the days play.

A three way countback was required to decide the days winner on 36 points, Marg Harrison victorious, never leaving the fairway the whole day. Runner up was Dale Smith, then Dhana Furlanetto who also chipped in for birdie on the 7th which was the birdie hole & Tim Batten also claimed a ball there for his birdie.

The golden hole nearest the pin was the 14th this week and Marg Harrison also saluted there. Other NTP’s were , 5th Dhana Furlanetto, 8th Sam Hannigan, 18th Dale Smith.

Drive & Pitch on the 7th Tim Batten, 17th Sam Hannigan.

The Avenel Imperial Hotel $50 raffle was won by members guest Karen.
Number 11 was drawn for the members draw on Friday at 6:30pm and the Vice Captain Sam Hannigan was filming the draw and very happily claimed the $110 voucher this week. $10 on the draw next week.

Next Saturday 6th of June we have the JCS Electrical Solutions Pinehurst, members & guests welcome, any combination, then on Thursday the 11 of June we have the Mabel Vearing Silver Salver, Entries to Jed Smith 0407546917

Avenel golf club notes 23.5.26

The May monthly medal was played on Saturday in fine conditions with some of the trickier pin placements in.

Winner of the day despite not driving it at her best was Dhana Furlanetto, quality chipping & putting getting her the result and monthly medal with 96 net 71.

Runner up was Dale Smith who did his best to hyper extend his fingers when tripping on the charging cord for the golf cart before the round, he rallied to post 82 net 73 which was the equal low round off the stick for the day.

Balls went to Campbell Smith 85/74, Rachel Smith 105/75, Jed Smith 83/75.

The golden hole nearest the pin was the 8th this week and Campbell Smith hit a beautiful towering draw 5 iron to 6 feet to claim the prize., Other NTP’s were , 14th Hayden Kneebone, 18th Rachel Smith.

Drive & Pitch on the 7th Jed Smith, the 17th it was Darryl Lynch from under the peppercorn with his drive.

Number 53 was drawn for the members draw on Friday at 6:30pm but Ryan Furlanetto wasn’t present so it jackpots to $110 voucher this week.

The front 9 holes (holes 1-9) of the golf course will be closed this afternoon (22/5/26) for w**d spraying. The back 9 holes (holes 10-18) will still be open if you want to have a hit.
