Sorry for the delay the boss and I have been in the process of a massive move but here is the recap from the 100 lapper at Alexandra

We arrived Friday and it was raining we threw a few bids at the Calcutta with no success few beers and a good fire

Saturday we got some racing in after going out to “buzz the track” (it was so wet) with little experience in the dogleg and a very wet track I was doing donuts in the right hander every lap 🤣🤣

Worked it out come race time and we got two rounds of heats completed before the rain set in again

More beers around the fire and when it was still raining at 10:00pm I called it that we would not be racing Sunday and poured a few more beers in

Come Sunday morning it was still drizzling and I thought the weekend was done

Alexandra Speedway pulled out all the stops to get us racing Sunday and there were 30-40 4x4’s running around the track for over an hour getting it into a track we could drive on again and the drizzle had stopped during this time

Another track buzz where I just went out not knowing when more rain would come and was out there throwing Frankee around and trying to bounce it off the limmy with no success lol

We got the rest of the heat races done and I had a crack at the tip in comp and did end up on the infield but apparently it looked pretty good and hey I went to this event to just have fun so why not

And then came a passing shower and that was it track was too dangerous again and after a brief drivers meeting with the club we unanimously voted that was the weekend over

I had a ball over this meeting (probablytoo much sorry Colin Beattie)and I did not touch Frankee all weekend, apart from trying to scrape some mud off, nothing broke and no changes were made it was a blast 10/10 recommend to tick this off your bucket list

So turns out it’s not a broken axle but it’s a problem

So yesterday we headed to sonic speedway swan hill with only 6 cars nominated and the round rained out wanted to run at this cool track

It didn’t start well the track prep wasn’t the best and a real heavy track we did about 30 laps trying to roll in the track with the track prep guys out there as well and we had the gear stick pop out during this time got it fixed with some cable tie ingenuity

1st heat started 5th tried to go high around a car too early lost a spot and settled behind the pack finished 6th

2nd heat started 2nd with pole jumping the start 1st time around he didn’t go the 2nd time around and we took out the heat win 🏁🏁 with Zoe keeping the pressure on behind. After coming into the pits found a broken bolt in the rear end and got that fixed

3rd heat started 4th got a great start track was coming in having a good race with two other cars and went for a pass and just had no drive thought maybe clutch and come infield so DNF
Found out once back in the pits we had broken the right axle 🤦🏼‍♂️ our night was done

From the high to the low we had it all. I wanna thank the track and the competitors for a great night and thanks to jocko and the hulk for your help in the pits

So haven’t got many photos from this weekend but here is a sick series of pics from Rosedale taken by Napier Photography

1st heat missed the setup and was loose as finished last
Got in the car for the 2nd heat wouldn’t start could hear the relay but the starter wasn’t turning called for a push car wouldn’t push start till after I called it and started on the way back to the pit bay so missed that heat
3rd heat started pole and got swamped off the start car felt heaps better
This out us 7th in the B-main started well picked up a spot straightaway then seen a car drop out in front started catching a car went for the move we came together and they declared the race short one lap we made it into the A-main
We didn’t get one lap done in the A-Main and a stoppage for debris on the track about to restart and the steering locked up in turn two and had to get towed off and watch from the infield for the whole race
I thought maybe a hit in the wheel from the first turn may have broken the rack but found upon inspection in the pits that a bolt had worked its way out on the steering column and locked up against a bar

Well I guess we just enjoy this time away and have us an awesome adventure see you all at moama in 2 weeks

Attention all drivers.
We have given it our all to give everyone the opportunity to race tonight but mother nature has won.

We were expecting 10-15 mm and recieved around 50mm with more forecast for today. The track is potentially fine but the pits and infield are not workable.

Safety for our infield crew and ambulance is our upmost priority along with the safety of our spectators.

We hope to see you all at our next event on the 17th of May.
