Atherton Basketball Association Welcome to the Atherton Basketball Association! We are a volunteer-based sporting association offering weekly games for both new and experienced players.

Welcome to the Atherton Basketball Association Inc.! Based in Far North Queensland, our dedicated volunteer-based sporting association takes pride in promoting basketball within the Atherton Tablelands community. For over 40 years, we've been committed to providing an inclusive and dynamic environment for both new and experienced players. Our association offers a range of programs for all age groups, from the Mini Ballers Under 10s to Junior Boys and Girls U12s, U14s, U16s, and U18s. We also host adult competitions for men and women, as well as an exciting, inclusive social competition for wheelchair and walking basketball. At Atherton Basketball, we believe that everyone has the potential to excel and enjoy the game of basketball. Our weekly training sessions and games take place at the well-equipped Atherton State High School Community Hall, ensuring that rain, hail, or shine, the game goes on. The success of our association depends on the enthusiasm and support of our amazing volunteers. We always welcome new coaches, referees, and committee members to join our team and help us take our club to the next level. A HUGE congratulations to our very own Molly & Bri, who represented Peninsula at the Queensland Basketball trials in Brisbane last week! The team came 5th overall which is an incredible achievement.

What an incredible achievement, Molly! Your hard work, dedication and love for the game have truly paid off. We couldn't be prouder!

And a massive shout-out to Bri, who travelled with the team as a coach and did an absolutely amazing job! 👏🔥 We are so proud to have you representing Atherton Basketball and helping support the next generation of players.

Northire helped us with a bain marie, BBQ and deep fryer for our Annual Carnival, helping our canteen team keep everyone fed throughout the event! 🍔🌭🍟

What a way to celebrate just how far this team has come! 🏀🔥

Our Under 16 Girls had an incredible weekend at the Atherton carnival, coming away with TWO wins from TWO games! 🙌🎉

But the wins are only part of the story…

These girls have grown so much throughout the year - developing their skills, building confidence, learning to play together and, most importantly, continuing to support each other every step of the way. 🧡

The improvement we’ve seen from the start of the season to now has been fantastic to watch, and these girls should be incredibly proud of themselves. 👏

From the first tip-off to now, they’ve shown that hard work, persistence and believing in each other pays off.

Keep working, keep backing each other and keep having fun! 🐯🧡
