You may have picked up that coffee is a must for me.

There's more to it than the drink. It's my way to connect and feel a sense of belonging. When the person serving you recognises you, shows genuine care and listens. Where you know you can turn up everyday without question.

For me in Cairns that is what I found at Toscas they became my way to connect without expectation, a safe place to take a breath.

On our day of diagnosis we had bought and coffee and Lachlan wasn't feeling great. From standing in line I booked the GP appointment that changed our lives.

And they were the first people I shared our news with. You better believe I needed a coffee first thing the next morning.

There was more to treatment than Lachlan and I being relocated to Brisbane.

Our home in Cairns was still rolling along, it challenged us in ways you can't imagine. Through it all we did our best to stay connected.

Coffee routine was one of my musts!!!

No temps for 24hrs, as suspected by Lachlan on finishing his chemo meds.

See what today brings, there are always exceptions which are in the best interests of our kids.
