Our Members competing in our Action Match discipline are heading to NSW state titles this weekend, then both Australian team (Chris) and Qld SSAA team (Ryan) are heading to the US for Bianchi cup in May. Then they have everyone coming from O/S for the world shoot at Toowoomba in October .

From the shores of Gallipoli to every conflict and peacekeeping mission that followed, the ANZAC spirit continues to define Australia’s identity — rooted in duty, resilience, and mateship.

We remember those who gave their lives, those who returned home, and those who still serve today. Their unwavering commitment remains a powerful testament to the values that unite Australians across every generation.

We will call him our C**t Python 🐍. He loves the range; he has been spotted over the years by many of our members hanging by the creek, snoozing in the BBQ, in the clubhouse roof, in the airshed wrapped around the radio. On Saturday, he was enjoying the sun and the view and was happily watching the rifle shooting on Range 1.

Joining the Gold Coast Pistol Club (GCPC) is a structured process you can do a "Try Before You Buy" session, or just join up , and this will be a probationary period. The club, located in Ashmore, offers various disciplines like IPSC, Olympic-style ISSF, and Western Action, Action Match, Rifle and IPSC shotgun matches.

How to Join
Try Before You Buy: If you're unlicensed, attend a session held Saturdays at 12:30 pm.
Cost: $120 (includes 50 rounds of .22 and 10 rounds of 9mm).
Requirements: Bring photo ID (passport or driver's licence), wear closed-in shoes, and modest clothing.
Bonus: If you join the club after this session, $20 of the fee is credited toward your joining fee.

Range School: All new members must complete at least three Saturday morning range school shoots and orientation.
Time: Be at the club by 8:15 am for a 9:00 am start.
Cost: Instruction and gun hire and supervision are free for members; you only pay for ammunition.

Licensing Path: To obtain a Category H (handgun) licence in Queensland, you must:
Apply for a Statement of Eligibility (Form QP515) from the police.
Complete a 6-month probation period with the club.
Complete a Category H Safety Course.

Club Facilities & Activities
Disciplines: Includes Air Pistol (indoor 10m range), Service Pistol, and IPSC and other disciplines.

Amenities: 9 ranges, BBQ area (with Saturday lunches), club room, and an on-site dealership/store for gear and ammunition.

Junior Shooters: Welcomes shooters from the minimum legal age of 11.

Operating Hours:
Monday – Saturday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Sunday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Closed: Good Friday, Christmas Day, and ANZAC Day.

Another great Sunday at the GCPC
We thank everyone who traveled from other clubs to participate (given the fuel situation) that’s loyalty to our sport.
The IPSC level 2 Grandslam was a success once again.
98 competitors enjoying our great sport.
Great skills on display.
Huge shout out to Michael Vortex Optics Australia and New Zealand for their support and merchandise.
Thank you to our volunteers today also much appreciated.

Make sure we all support our sport and law abiding firearm owners by signing all petitions regarding the Labor Party pathetic bill they are trying to rush through.
It’s not us law abiding citizens that should be penalised.
