Last Thursday, Maddy competed in her first Australian Nationals Seniors Epee competition and did very well!

Now it’s the older adult’s turn to do some fencing in the Australian Nationals in Brisbane. Yesterday, GCFA raised the QLD flag with a bronze medal performance by Ed Egan in the Veterans Men’s Epee individuals. Today, we joined with our friends from The Fencing Club to compete in Men’s Teams Epee where we fought to the best of our abilities!

For the safety of our fencers, we have cancelled tonight’s (18 May 2026) Monday night adult class. Too much water on the road and poor visibility!

We’ll do a make up session in July! Don’t you worry!

And that's a wrap for our year-end competition! Thank you to all the fencers, parents, friends, relatives, clubs and coaches who travelled from far away to attend our Youth and Cadet Epee Invitational - The Fencing Club, Duellists Fencing Club, and Newcastle Fencing Club.

Congratulations to all our fencers who trained hard throughout the year and fought very well in the competition. Congratulations to all our medallists in each category! Be proud!
