Last month, former ACC Seniors player, Bart Portelli, sadly passed away at the age of 59. He is survived by his wife Anna and two sons.

A family friend of the Portelli's reached out to us to request we share a GoFundMe link for the family, we are happy to oblige. Funds raised will go directly towards the grieving family, with Anna battling cancer and recently undergoing surgery, now having to go through extended periods being unable to work.

Bart, ACC player #1777, played 56 games from the early to mid 2010s in our highest graded teams as an all-rounder, had a highest score of 66*, took 42 wickets with a best of 6 for 37 and took 21 catches.
He was a premiership winner in our 2nd Division 2014/15 team, making significant contributions in the semi and grand finals.

But most of all, we remember him as being a legend of a bloke. Seven of his former team-mates attended his funeral and our C Grade ACC Green side wore black armbands in his memory for their semi final.

We offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends and if you can contribute, that would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately our long Seniors premiership streak has come to an end... and it took very controversial circumstances.

Despite the efforts of a top 5 bowling figures in ACC history, our C&WSCA/BDCA team lost and it took a combination of terrible luck, dreadful sportsmanship from the opposition and with our WH&CC team minutes away from reaching the target, a shocking umpire's decision allowing the fielding team claim bad light to have the match abandoned, absolutely robbed ACC of a premiership.

Scores to come in Weekend Wrap.
