Most people don’t fail because they lack potential.

They fail because they constantly move away from the things that actually work.

Progress in strength training is usually simple, but it requires patience.

Master the basics. Stay consistent. Trust the process.

Mindset affects more than people realise.

It affects your confidence under the bar.
Your ability to stay focused.
How you respond after a bad session.
Whether you push through discomfort… or let one bad moment derail the entire workout.

The gym isn’t just physical.
It’s mental too.

Some athletes quit mentally before the hard set even starts.
Others learn how to stay composed, trust the process, and keep showing up regardless of how they feel.

That’s usually the difference between people who stay stuck… and people who keep progressing.

You can have the best program in the world, but if your mindset collapses every time training gets difficult, progress becomes almost impossible.

Train your body.
But don’t neglect your mind. 🧠🏋️‍♂️⚡️

There’s a big difference between working out… and actually training.

One is random.
One is intentional.

You can spend hours in the gym, sweat, feel exhausted… and still go nowhere.
Because without intent, you’re just guessing your way through sessions.

Training with intent means:
You know what you’re doing.
You know why you’re doing it.
And you execute it properly.

Every rep has a purpose.
Every set moves you forward.
Every session builds on the last.

That’s how progress is made.

Stop chasing the feeling of being tired…
Start chasing the standard of getting better.

Training with intent beats guesswork. Every time.

Nationals recap time and the scoreboard got absolutely rewritten.

5 National records
4 Podium’s
2 champion trophies
HUGE SUCCESS 🏆🏆🏆🏆

What our athletes did on the platform wasn’t just competition day lifting, it was statement after statement, rep after rep, record after record.

Annie Burns delivered a flawless 9/9 performance and left nothing untouched. She broke the national squat, bench, and deadlift records, along with the national total record. She claimed her weight division, took out Best Junior Female Lifter, and now sits in the top 4 in the world. A 461.5kg total that reads like pressure turned into precision.

Irini Kapsalis went 8/9, locking in second place with a 387.5kg total. Controlled, composed, and constantly building across the day when it mattered most.

Matvi Kaplan finished 7/9, secured 2nd place, and added a national deadlift record to the list with 282.5kg on the bar. A 627.5kg total built through grit and consistency across all three lifts.

Toby Read fought through the day to claim 3rd place with a 525kg total. Solid, competitive, and right in the mix from start to finish.
Jonah Strickland took 1st place and became Special Olympics Champion with a 535kg total. A performance that stood tall on every attempt that mattered.

This is what happens when preparation meets the platform. Not luck, not noise, just ex*****on when it counts.

Coaches Chris and George could not have been prouder to have been there to watch their athletes make history and represent Alpha Athletes at such a prestigious level.

Congratulations guys. You made all of us at Alpha so proud 🫡

Watching a movement and executing it properly are two different things.

Without feedback, most lifters rely on guesswork and that leads to inconsistent progress.

Coaching provides clarity, direction, and immediate correction.

That’s what turns effort into results.

It’s easy to look around the gym and compare.

But training isn’t about keeping up with the person next to you — it’s about progressing at the right pace for you.

Stick to your program. Trust the process. Leave the ego out of it.

That’s how you build real strength.

07/04/2026

Comparison is one of the fastest ways to kill your progress.

George saw the weight Chris was lifting…
and instead of sticking to his plan, he let his ego take over.

Same weight. Different outcome.

What people forget is:

You don’t see the years behind someone else’s lift.
You don’t see their programming.
You don’t see their progression.

You only see the bar.

And that’s where people go wrong.

Training isn’t about keeping up with the person next to you.
It’s about executing your plan properly, consistently, and over time.

Because that’s what actually builds strength.

Leave the ego at the door.
Trust your program.
And focus on your own progression.

Mindset isn’t about feeling good before you train.

It’s about how you respond when you don’t.

There will always be days where you’re tired.
Where you’re sore.
Where you don’t feel ready.

That’s part of the process.

What matters is whether you let that feeling dictate your actions… or you choose to move anyway.

Because more often than not, once you start, everything shifts.

You settle in.
You find your rhythm.
You get through the work.

And the session you almost skipped becomes the one that keeps you progressing.

Mindset isn’t built on perfect days.

It’s built on the days you didn’t feel like showing up — but did anyway.
