Nationals recap time and the scoreboard got absolutely rewritten.
5 National records
4 Podium’s
2 champion trophies
HUGE SUCCESS 🏆🏆🏆🏆
What our athletes did on the platform wasn’t just competition day lifting, it was statement after statement, rep after rep, record after record.
Annie Burns delivered a flawless 9/9 performance and left nothing untouched. She broke the national squat, bench, and deadlift records, along with the national total record. She claimed her weight division, took out Best Junior Female Lifter, and now sits in the top 4 in the world. A 461.5kg total that reads like pressure turned into precision.
Irini Kapsalis went 8/9, locking in second place with a 387.5kg total. Controlled, composed, and constantly building across the day when it mattered most.
Matvi Kaplan finished 7/9, secured 2nd place, and added a national deadlift record to the list with 282.5kg on the bar. A 627.5kg total built through grit and consistency across all three lifts.
Toby Read fought through the day to claim 3rd place with a 525kg total. Solid, competitive, and right in the mix from start to finish.
Jonah Strickland took 1st place and became Special Olympics Champion with a 535kg total. A performance that stood tall on every attempt that mattered.
This is what happens when preparation meets the platform. Not luck, not noise, just ex*****on when it counts.
Coaches Chris and George could not have been prouder to have been there to watch their athletes make history and represent Alpha Athletes at such a prestigious level.
Congratulations guys. You made all of us at Alpha so proud 🫡
