Last week of the 2025-26 season. Thank you to all those who help throughout the season. Although it was a cool morning, the energy from those in the water kept us all warm. The special 100m & 50m medley races started the morning with a new innovation the 50m medley swum backwards. This was followed by the fun races with world first of the show boat smiling relay, Thomas the tank engine towing the carriages relay & usual favourites like the crocodile relay. With the BBQ supplies organised by Dr Pet Earls & watermelon guy Phil G the master blaster BBQ chef Wilson & the team went to work supplying a beautifully cooked BBQ with warm fresh rolls filled with a choice of locally made sausages, caramelised onions, eggs, bacon, followed by well presented triangles of watermelon & the famous lemon cordial. After this well received breakfast we were ready for the Bryony’s monster raffle. Although the raffle MC Mr Chris Gray was unfortunately away master apprentices, Zara, Jocelyn, Kooper, Amogh, Olivia, Sam etc.. filled in well. See you all at the presentation evening Saturday May 16, 5-8pm at Pratten Park Bowlo.

A gorgeous morning for the last day of championships. Well done to all our swimmers, and notably President DCW for his magnificent solo effort in the 100 butterfly, making it look easy. But we missed you Frank! Congratulations also to our Swimmer of the Week Willem Willemsen for consistently solid performances. A blistering PB from Sam Barry, a close run finish in the 100 back and the debut of the Shonkettes in the medley relay rounded out the day. See you next week! 🏊🏼 🏊🏻‍♂️

Battle on the Bay was cut short due to the weather. Ashfield was represented by a team of 26. The carnival included all the freestyle events with poor Lachlan left on the block for almost 15 minutes with his event delayed by timing system difficulties. Caroline once again defended her title with Keali becoming our youngest champion winning the U6s. The club had a win in the 15/16 relay with a 2nd & two 3rds including the 10x50. Ashfield were able to field 2 10x50 relay teams which was a first for the club. Well done everyone for surviving the rain, sun, wind & peaceful calm.

Week 4 of the Champs, and it’s Super Saturday! Yes, that’s right - 100 free, 100 breaststroke and 50 fly all in one fun-filled morning. Hats off to all those who stumped up to all three events. Congratulations to Abbey Crofts, our Swimmer of the Week, who took more than 3 seconds off her PB last week in the 50m backstroke. Well done Abbey! Swim and Survive continues today, and our resuscitation course took place after club. Thanks to everyone involved for making this happen. Battle of the Bay tomorrow, all the best to our swimmers. See you next week! 🏊🏼 🏊🏻‍♂️

Week 16 saw the 200 free contested on a rainy dull morning. Luke Glasscock took home swimmer of the week with his spectacular win in the 50 free last week, just touching out Sam Barry. Both boys swam sub 30 seconds, a great result. Congratulations Luke! And well done also to our happy raffle winners.
Swim and Survive continued this week, the program is full this year so it’s great to see everyone taking advantage of this important initiative.
See you next week! 🏊🏼‍♀️ 🏊🏻‍♂️
