Ki Martial Arts Academy predominantly practice Traditional and Sport, Olympic style Taekwon-Do but also incorporate Hapkido, Muay Thai, boxing, meditation and self-defence techniques to develop an all round martial artist who can protect themselves and

tackle the many challenges that life present

Mission
Ki Martial Arts Academy aims to uphold and promote the standard of Taekwon-Do by observing the Tenets of the Art as laid down by the Founder, General Choi Hong Hi. We aim to encourage the moral culture and physical education of all Taekwon-Do practitioners to help build a healthier and better community. Through Taekwon-Do we aim to increase the health and well-being of the community whilst having fun and learning new skills. Description
Taekwon-Do directly translates as ‘Art of Hand and Foot’ and is a Korean Martial Art and form of Self Defence. Taekwon-do has many benefits, both socially, mentally and physically including the following:

• Improved co-ordination
• Enhanced body awareness
• Increased flexibility and cardiovascular fitness
• Boost self confidence
• Augment social interaction and communication skills training with other children and adults
• Opportunity to progress and improve self-esteem through the belt grading system
• Encourage cultural awareness
• Nurture general wellbeing and positive self-image

In addition to these benefits, this dynamic art teaches and promotes Taekwon-do tenets (life rules):
